  1. Just played that (thanks Spotify!). Great song - you can imagine it as the last encore and the road crew joining on stage to take a bow.
  2. Welcome aboard! Interesting looking bass! Did you used to own one in the past?
  3. 🥳 Looks the biz and works well too. Well done that man!
  4. Fell about laughing at that. The track is rather good to - will be searching out a bit more of them.
  5. Calling Mr. Wizard @Andyjr1515..
  6. https://brynhaworth.bandcamp.com/album/sunny-side-of-the-street Huge fun rock and roll, great guitar playing and bouncy bass. Crank it up!
  7. Looks good to me, I'm impressed 👍 I think bridges do need an earth wire.
  8. I can't help thinking there is a whole world to open up there. "I'm on tour with Kiss, I'm the banana roadie"."Cool, I was fruit tech for Boston a while back" End of derail - back to the thread!
  9. Rockonteurs podcast - Trevor Horne pt 2. Great stories and very funny.
  10. There has been a spate of multiple posts recently. It's as if the Submit button gets stuck. Needs some contact cleaner.
  11. Thanks for all the suggestions! @lemmywinks - that looks quite handy and can run at 45W off a proper USBC power bank, which might be useful. Have you done big joints with it, such as earth leads onto pot cases on older basses? The Tiswall looks good too, but the link was US, I'll try to find a UK link.
  12. And surely that is the difference between us amateurs and the professionals. Spare cables, spare DI and even a spare AMP. (and I'm prepared to bet spare strings, bass, and plectrums) Glad the show went on!
  13. Antex look superb. Maybe a little pricey for what I need. Though I do have to make up 18 stage boxes with tails (a total of 144 XLR connections) so maybe...
  14. Hi all, My elderly inheritted soldering station doesn't seem to be getting hot enough, so it's probably time to replace it. Most of what I do is repairing XLR and cables, small electronics like connectors on PCB and instruments. I don't need industrial grade, but I'm wary of cheap tools. I would prefer temp controlled. Other people have recommended this brand, but I have never heard of them. https://www.amazon.co.uk/YIHUA-939D-III-EVO-Desoldering/dp/B0BTY3NHZS/ Any suggestions?
  15. Of course now he has turned up to the practice, he will want to play at the service. Not a lot you can do about that, other than hope the service goes well for the baptism. Next time don't chase him, complete the practice without him and on the Sunday politely say that as he wasn't there all the arrangements have been done without drums. And then take him off the rota, at least for any service you're at.
  16. I'm really enjoying this thread. Fabulous stuff. But I must be honest - even though I would love to have a go at this sort of thing, if/when I come to build a bass it will be quicker for me to learn to sharpen my chisels properly.
  17. Looks great
  18. I went to Tesco and bought ibuprofen. You win! How wild do you want to go with the pick guard? British racing green? Cyan?
  19. Quadruple post! A new record there from @petecarlton.
  20. As long as that's not a frequency response graph. 😱
  21. Welcome aboard!
  22. @petecarlton: So the SW bash has legendary food and now the SE Bash had Guy Pratt for goodness' sake! I think we need to up the game for the Midlands Bash -maybe the local Greggs and @Andyjr1515's bass setup tutorial aren't good enough for folks nowadays? 😉
  23. Just been listening to your album on Spotify ("The Game"- that is the right one?) Is that you singing as well as playing bass?
  24. That looks like a fabulous day, some great gear and people as usual. Shame I missed it On the other hand - I played better on Sunday morning than I have done in ages and had this very odd sensation that I am now actually a bass player.
