Zion Calling Death and Glory The Nuns of Brixton
-
Have any of you actually listened to the song? 🤣
-
Yep! So does the person who wrote it!
-
I Sought The Lord Sunday morning, and a new song. Not one of mine, and not me on bass, but quite fun and I thought you might enjoy it. (Young lad on the trumpet has only played with the band once before, not bad going) Joy (after the service)

Oh come on, you can't tease us like that! Why aren't you allowed near white spirit?
-
Nice! 👌

Following with interest. Don't overdo it while recovering. I was informed by a surgeon a long time ago: "Boredom and watching DVDs are both essential parts of the healing process "

Spot on for me. The top artists are music I work to, I saw Satriani and Springsteen in concert this year, and the others are songs I've been learning.

Great poster!
-
Yep, you're now a bassist!

Welcome aboard!

Which worship songs would you recommend as a starting point for trying this out on? What slide and strings did you use?
-
Wow! As for playing bass - I think you will have to develop a new technique.Possibly with the bass horizontal like a pedal steel guitar and you pressing the frets with your left hand fingers from above. Or play with a slide, which would be very cool indeed.

One of our sound engineers fell off a ladder and fractured three back ribs at the weekend. Just come home, still with industrial pain killers, and won't be doing any bending, stretching of lifting this side of Christmas. ☹️

@Nice Guy Rich If people are asking how things can improve, then maybe your actions have "stirred up some dust." You can reply "not my problem", or maybe "I've been trying to make suggestions for ages and not got anywhere. If you're serious, then let's look at this in early February and pray about it in the meantime". If people are still saying in January that they want to change things, then maybe they will.

Based on the original post we probably shouldn't be discussing these tracks, but where would the fun be in that 😁 @Leonard Smalls, do please explain why "Horses" is considered great. That, and indeed the rest of the album, I dislike intensely - what am I missing?

I have happy memories of throwing snowballs at past midnight on the frozen canal in Ontario. It was -20⁰C but bone dry air. I felt colder three days later standing on the platform at Liverpool St at +1⁰C but in thick drizzle that sucked the heat from your bones.

How they make people feel at the end of the song, the journey they take the listener on. Comfortably Numb is a great song too, for the same reason (and the second guitar solo, of course).

https://brynhaworth.bandcamp.com/album/sunny-side-of-the-street The opening track of this album "Good Job". Is it the best thing Bryn Haworth has ever done? Maybe not. Is it a great track? Yes, just the sheer enthusiasm. One to crank up.

Nearly Yes = Probably. I think 😉
