  1. What's your best price?
  2. It's the whole dance I can't stand. Having to over price something just so someone can knock you down to the price you wanted in the first place. Utterly ridiculous. Just list at the price you want. Take it or leave it. Simple. I'm currently selling a few bits of gear here in Bulgaria which annoys me immensely because people won't pay asking price for anything (as said earlier, it's a cultural thing), and when they sell things it's always overpriced. I refuse to play that game. The gear is listed at the price I want because I refuse to inflate it for haggle room. I've already turned down a few offers. I don't really care how long it takes or whether it sells at all. It's not costing me anything to keep it.
  3. I would just add that overwhelmingly, on here prices are extremely fair, if not even a little on the low side. I think most people do their research and price things accordingly. Unlike some of the chancers on eBay and Fakebook marketplace.
  4. Yeah I get what you're saying, and I suppose there are a couple of exceptions. Such as if I really want something but I think the seller has overpriced it, and I can give an example of being able to get it cheaper (eBay etc) then I might respectfully approach the buyer and explain that I think it's overpriced and offer them going rate. As a seller I'm also receptive to this kind of communication. But there are some people who simply will not pay going rate for anything and expect to get everything "cheap" by making lowball offers. I have no interest in dealing with those kinds of people. In fact I would (and have in the past) rather take something to the tip or smash it up than sell to someone taking the p#ss. Might sound ridiculous but I'd rather lose money than deal with those kinds of people.
  5. I absolute despise haggling. If I'm selling something I list it at the price I want. If someone tries to knock down the price I can't be arsed dealing with them. Similarly if I'm buying something and the price is fair I'll pay it no questions asked. If I think something is overpriced I'll just simply ignore it.
  6. "Refurbished". "Recently replaced strings" If the rest of the refurb is as good as the string replacement it's worth about a fiver.
  7. It's this still available? Any chance of shipping?
  8. @Muzomatt Apologies. Change of direction and I can't delete the post or the tag.
  9. The Vox VT stuff is really good and you can dial in pretty much any sound you like. Not strictly a valve amp but had a valve pre and makes some lovely noises. Can be picked up pretty cheaply too. But fair warning. If you go for the 2x12 version it weighs about the same as a bungalow.
  10. Good question. I have a very bad memory and very little musical theory knowledge so it always takes me ages to learn a new song. I look forward to hearing the advice of the more seasoned players here.
  11. Behringer. 😂
  12. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was my idea of a joke in response to Geek99's post saying "you don't have to be a grumpy old man on this site", and nothing to do with you joining. The welcome was incidental. 😁
  13. Ahem! Are you sure you've read the site terms and conditions correctly? Welcome Suezee. 😉
  14. I've heard mostly good things about Markbass. I just can't get over the *pimped by Halfords" look of them. They're the musical equivalent of an Essex boys hatchback.
  15. That's a really nice looking bass, and my favourite double humbucker configuration.
  16. You don't need beer for that. But I need lots of beer to make my playing sound as good as everybody else. Of course to everyone else it's also dependent on the amount of beers they've drunk.
  17. No but it looks like something a gay Klingon would play. 😂
  18. Me too. If it was also less ugly, a different shape and a nicer colour.
  19. I'd rather have one cheap Harley Benton and lots of beer.
  20. Extremely easy. There are a few English in the village already so the locals are used to us and our quirky ways and are extremely friendly.
  21. I'd be more worried if it was the other way around. 😂
  22. As some of you may (or may not) know. I live in deepest darkest rural Bulgaria in a small village with only about 300 people. So imagine my delight when I recently met a guy from the UK who's just bought a house in my village, who is not only a guitarist but also a qualified sound engineer and has his own recording studio in the UK. He's planning on bringing all his gear over soon which comprises of everything you would expect from a good recording studio, including a live state set up. Loads of instruments, several drum kits, mics, and lots of old valvey goodness amps. I think he's going to be my new best friend. 😆
  23. Yes indeed. But they disappeared for a good few years. I wonder why they decided to reproduce them? There was some muppet trying to sell one for a grand and a half on eBay. 🤣
