1. It's all true. I have used mine for the last 5 years and it has had no problems. It sounds so good. The parametric mids are so powerful and the bass and treble tones are utterly beautiful. The build quality is total perfection, if they were being made today I would think they would cost in the region of 2.5K. don't forget the Partridge transformer, too.
2. I have to say, that if this were left handed, I would be very interested. Good luck all the same.
3. I think was written in about 1980. Cardiacs are a massive influence on Mike Patton. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5QYijFfOaQ
4.
Loud = Peavey Heavy = Peavey Old School = Peavey It's what's called a no-brainer
Totally. Mark IV, or Mark VI.
5. Clarky, can we have many more pics, please? I never realised, though I might be wrong, but is it a carved top? Lovely bass.
6. That's so nice. Love the colour, the simplicity, the price but alas, no disposable, what kind of trades are you looking for? So then, what are you getting next?
7. Basschat has lost its soul. Si was a good lad, now we just have a load of talking heads. Good work Wayne.
8.
Taste skipped 2 generations?
Best post ever.
9. Just skimmed through it, Denaie Moore was truly awful. I really don't understand that style of singing, mutilated vowels, stretched clipped out of tune. The Orwells, oh well. The Killers...Brendon so wants to tell us all how great Jesus is. I agree with Mr Bung, it needs to be taken out into the field and put out of its misery. Jools looks like Bob Hoskins.
10. Superb. Built the right way round, but that headstock...
11. As is this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAEbOdnRUc0
12. A good DJ can make a room full of people have a religious experience. Which is bollocks . But a really good DJ can also bring memories and snapshots of centuries of togetherness snap into sharp focus for the listener. Very few have this skill. Andrew Weatherall is one of them.
13. Well, somebody writes a book about being themselves and in the process, through marketing and their history, alienates all those who want the writer to be like the people who will potentially read the book. Could be a classic. Who can tell.
14. How can people holding you by the hand, and guiding you into your soul, to find truth and honesty, leave you cold?
15.
I must admit to rather liking Ornette..........
HAHAHA. Love this. I love having my mind nourished and this guy does it for me. xxx
16.
Jazz was once upon a time, folk music... Now, in the hands of many people that call themselves jazz musicians it is music played by musicians that have got their chops together and have a major desire to show other musicians the extent to which they've got those chops together. That type of jazz doesn't sound like music to me. And this is coming from someone who has played a ton of jazz through my working life. There is plenty of really good jazz being played by some awesome musicians in this country and elsewhere eg Mike Walker and Gwilym Simcock playing in the 'Impossible gentlemen' a band with Adam Nussbaum and Steve Swallow. Mike is an old mate of mine and one of the finest jazz musicians I've played with, so there is great stuff out there, you just need to be judicious and learn to realise when you've just got a noodler/showboater in front of you. It is of course all subjective! I did a jazz gig in Reading this lunchtime, was a blast!
Tony trumpet, from Birkenhead, says hi, Jake.
17.
I bet she sucks up better thank your vacuum cleaner aswell lol
We have a winner.
18.
Ms Hathaway is a brilliant singer - she's on Marcus Miller's "live and more" album doing 'summertime' (with Poogie Bell on drums too)
Well, some interesting replies, as usual. Basshchat shows its broad colours. That's why it's a proper forum, not populated by dickheads, passionate posts but dickhead free. I love her voice. And this is a great version posted by paul5.
19.
She sounded like my vacuum cleaner.
When it's doing what?
20. I really like the way the room goes up a notch, then the groove comes crashing back in. Very effective.
21. http://chasingmusiclife.com/?p=461 6:00 on, for those of an impatient nature.
