  2. Hi Bass chatters. I have an Ampeg SVT IIP preamp that has served me well in the past, but it has developed a fault. Playing through it before into my power amp, then into my cab, it started to loose gain and start sounding scratchy. I swapped basses, still the same problem. I swapped preamps, then no problem. I have discounted basses, leads and the power amp, so the problem lays with the Ampeg As I say, it started to loose volume,ie gain strength. As well as getting quieter, then getting louder, then starting to sound scratchy. Any ideas as to what could be the problem? Thanks in advance Steve.

  9. I need this, I want this. Would be a bit spesh with my DB680.
  10. I had Alan build me a 6 string, his very first, it was amazing in playability, neck stability, action was stupidly low and it was such a powerful sounding instrument. As Spoombung will testify, Alan can build anything you want and he is very reasonably priced. I move mine on because it had too many strings.
  11. Beautiful LPB Precision, love your Guild also.
  12. Cool f***er, too. Great dress sense.
  13. This will be a classic bass in the future. Will be priceless in less that 20 YEARS.
  14. I lived for the moment, it was a futile gesture anyway. Ugly,The Stranglers. Squalor is alive in tidy suburbia.... (see post 58)
  15. He is a true virtuoso and I love his tone but, I can't get with his keyboard sounds.
  16. Wanted, 1966 Fender Jazz or Precision bass.
