1. I just felt a small twitch in the loins.
2. Sorry guys, it is a lovely bass.
3. Hi Josh, the first one was a bit tatty, dinks and lacquer cracks but I thought, for £599, well, that's fair enough. It had heavy flats on it, B E A D, so, when I put lighter strings on, I needed to adjust the truss rod. I put the allen key in and it just spun, as the socket at the end of the rod was too big, it appeared to have had the faces sheared slightly, the owner had never done any work to the bass before, letting his tech do so, so was unaware. When I told him, he immeadiately sent out another bass, in much better condition. I cannot fault this fantastic response and as a result, we have become friends and keep in touch, he is a great bloke.
4.
I've been waiting for photos of it for ages
Hi Josh, I'm waiting for my PC to be fixed, I'm using the wifes' spare at the mo. It's not the original one that was on ebay though, as it had a small problem, so the seller, who is a brilliant guy, sent me an identical replacement, (he owns 3 the same) which was in much better condition, with an original Status flight case. It's an amazing instrument and makes playing a joy. But I guess you don't want to hear that.
5. That is sh*t Hot.
6.
It's all very well for highly critical readers to sit in their Habitat sofas with their plasma screen TVs and be uber critical about something they have no background knowledge on. However I understand that the mag changed ownership recently and, given the current economic situation, there's bound to be some cutbacks one way or another if they're planning to turn the business around and make some money out of it. Of course if people care more about running the mag into the ground more than having a decent bass-focussed publication, then thats up to them. FWIW, they actually some major problems in even getting companies to send them review basses. Not even the manufacturers appear to be that enthusiastic. So I'd suggest that the readership have probably got an opportunity to shape the publication into something that they'd be prepared to buy every month. Alternatively, there's always basschat. Just my 2p.
How does one sit in a sofa?
7. Bidding ended with no bids.
8. Excellent, any reason for the different cabs?
9. hi Bobo, lefty love here.
10.
Thought I might try the Hellborg rig.
Yes, go on my son. What amp and cabs?
11. I love the way she looks really into it and fearless and she has the ability to make you feel at ease while you watch her, just like Jaco. Big smiles, lots of joy, playing music is the best.
12. Has your drummer got one of those John Bonham Ludwigs?
13. Does anyone know where they are made? I seem to remember China, then shipped back to the states for inspection and set up. So that's one hell of a round trip, with a huge carbon footprint. The whole idea of an affordable bass for £500, or dollars is disgusting, Flea should stay out of business and stick to what he knows best, making albums that are becoming progressively duller.
14. Me neither, Cambridgeshire is too far for me.
15.
Here is mine 2007 Sadowsky MV5 Sonic Blue
That is one of the most beautiful bass guitars on Basschat, sonic blue is so cool. Well in.
16. I like the mint one that you already have. Tort is like the sunburst default setting.
17. I know, I should have bought his Ric as well. I am a dobber. End of.
18.
Probably. That would be the orange one with blue LEDs? That was Lee Pomeroys.
Yes
19. Whatever you do, don't metion THAT!
20. Am I a tit? I had a chance to buy a Spitfire last year on ebay for £750, (Rick Wakemans' bass player was selling it), did I screw up?
21. God, that's a nice piece of ass.
22. This bass is great, I put Fender pups in it, which are better than the Duncan Designed ones, it plays really well, (even upside down) and with the Gotoh bridge and pre, is even better value. Buy it.
23. What does it sound like compared to an S2 Classic neck through?
