I discovered this forum when it was called bassworld, I was selling a warwick thumb bass on the gumtree and somebody contacted me and told me to put it up on bassworld.co.uk and when I found it I thought it was ace How did you find this forum?

Well, heres my experience of certain annoyances from past bands. 1- Band leader would adjust the volume on my amp whilst in mid song, up and down up and down. This was a definate no no 2- Same Band leader would ask I play pre written bass lines instead of letting me put my own personal input into things, or, if I did, would tell me to do something else (I get the feeling they do this because they know a bass line can make or break a song, but tough sh*t Im the bassist) 3- The guitarist who will w*** the fretboard when we are trying to discuss arrangements and we cant hear ourselves think as a result. I dont play with any of these guys anymore.

Is this the one that was on the bay recently?

Its only an old Hondo Fame 830 bass from the 1980's I think, Its a 20 fret 34' scale neck as far as I'm aware.

Saw it on ebay, that seller who was selling a few jap crap basses, mainly precisions, anyways black on maple and it looks nice, Ive never had a jap crap bass (or korean as could well be the case with this one) but I thought not bad for 50 quid. I know his stuff for sale was flagged up in the ebay links section, did anyone else here pick up anything else he was selling?

Fender Precision bass is a good bass for metal. Big punchy fat heavy tone that will cut through distorted guitars. Tone and volume knobs, crank them both up and go at it.

In a word, awesome. Nice and light, well balanced, two humbuckers, active preamp and a 3 way coil tap on each humbucker pretty much means there isnt a bass sound you couldnt get from it. As long as you're comfy with the modern chunky warwick neck I say get one.

I'm quite partial to that red one in the first link, I think I'm going to have get one of these and mod it.

I dont know if it would have that musicman bark, because the musicman pup is placed by the bridge where the strings are nice and tight, but I think it would sound like a precision with extra punch and a decent slap sound

This is nice, ive flagged this up before, Ive seen it on ebay a few times, it keeps reappearing, but it gets pulled just before end of auction, I dont know if this is because it doesnt make what the seller wants and he doesnt want to pay for putting a reserve on it. Hello ladies and gents, as you know I am going to be modding a p bass shortly with a stingray pup, but, I saw these whilst browsing ebay, I think it looks quite nice, and the stingray pup would fit quite nice (I've always wanted a ray but cant afford one right now) so what do you guys think, reckon its worth considering? I'd throw a bad ass on it also. Hello all, So Ive just bought Stings stingray pickup, and I intend to route it into a precision bass as I am most comfortable with p bass necks over anything else. I intend to keep the precision pup on the bass and have the stingray pup mounted next to the bridge i.e like a stingray, and I am going to have a two way toggle switch added so that the tone and volume pot will either control the stingray pup or the precision pup one at a time. I dont really want to blend the pups so its going to be stingray sound or precison sound. Now my question is, will the stingray pup run passive, or, because it came from an active ernie ball 2004 stingray, will I have to have a pre-amp installed and route a battery cavity in the back? advice much appreciated as always.
