1. At the end of the gig make sure you throw your bass on the floor, give the crowd the middle finger, say "f**k you (whatever location you happen to be in)" and then fall into the drumkit
2.
would it be sacrilage to buy this to re-finish it?
I never thought of that, with the cost of the bass as is and a refin at another 200 quid you could still have a sweet looking graph neck bass for 400, why has this not sold yet?! This would look the business in a nice vintage off white colour
3. Hmm, thats the first time Ive seen flea lose his temper! What a waste of a perfectly good bass, to smash it up because it was wrongly tuned? Mind you im sure that graph neck will be just fine
4. DiMarzio are awesome, Bareknuckle are supposed to be fantastic but I am yet to hear one myself and I hear good things about Tonerider pickups aswell
5. Someone might want it, not bad looking for 35 quid http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-P-bass-copy_...id=p3286.c0.m14
6. Throw in a 5th, or an octave here and there, the odd slap and pop, run down a scale, or run up one, throw in a slide here and there, see what works what doesnt, if the guitarist is playing up high, you play down low and vice versa, I think it sounds quite good where the bass and guitar double up in certain parts of the song
7. I like a nice headstock and a smallish body on my basses, I have a thing for warwick headstocks
8. Anyone ever heard one of these? Ive never seen that brand before http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Duesenberg-Stingray-...id=p3286.c0.m14
9. looks quite nice, not a bad price imo http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Superb-Vintage-Fretl...id=p3286.c0.m14
10. If so its your lucky day http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2008FENDER-62-RI-WAL...id=p3286.c0.m14
11. Buy it from him, I mean how could you not? sounds to me like this is the bass that your hands were made for, so passing this up would be criminal, it could be a cure to all your GAS and you may never feel the need to buy another bass again, just do us all a favour and get a nice black or white refin on it!
12. I very nearly bought this myself, Im not too sure about the bridge actually touching the bridge pickup, do you think this could affect the sound in anyway? The bridge also looks slightly offset on one side, at it appears to touch the pickup on one side but not the other
13. check this out http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Traben-Chaos-Cor...id=p3286.c0.m14
14. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here, I sold my red double buck in good nick for about 500 quid so I'd look at aiming for something around there, but, other than the general classic look and feel of a p bass your double buck can pretty much do any bass sound, including a p bass, the double buck was the most versatile bass I had out of all of them and dialing a jazz sound or a precision sound was easy what with the coil tap on each humbucker. But if you decide to sell best of luck with it, they are nice basses anyone who buys wont be dissapointed im sure.
15. I regret selling my usa s1 jazz black on maple, slickest playing jazz I ever had, true regret letting that one go, I regret letting my corvette standard go aswell, out of all the basses I played live she got the most compliments on her live sound, I also regret letting go of my spector rebop, best playing neck on any bass, ever.
16.
I bought this new in 1998. Used it for several years and it picked up a few knocks and dents along the way. I have basses for using not for show. Took it to Austin, Texas to make an album so it's flown in the cargo hold long hail. Had the nut replaced with a brass nut for extra zing. I tried various pick-ups in it but when sold it was back to standard. I thought the £600 I sold it for was very fair considering the condition and what I paid for it new. Oh and I sold it because I had completed and was very happy with the Status necked SR5 and couldn't justify having two of them. Here we are at Bognor Live 2002. It's a good one, go for it.
I was in Austin about 3 months ago, loved it!
17.
Can't believe I misspelled desperate. Maybe I was a bit disappointed after all :-) - especially as it was a local seller.
If for whatever reason I dont get on with it Stevie I'll give you first dibs
18. Ok ok so its not a real stingray but it is an olp copy with a musicman sterling pup already installed, scooped it for 90 quid, sterling sound, stingray looks, a 10th of the price...nice! will give a review and more pics when I get it (hopefully by friday) out of interest was I bidding against anyone here? I think I got it at such a good price because the seller didnt say in the title it had a sterling pup fitted, only when you read the item description did it say, so Im thinking a lot of people skipped past it thinking it was just a standard olp ray?
19. What a pointless thread to start, nothing wrong with the current for sale system, I hardly think somebody paying a quid or two to post up a high end bass for sale is going to stop the seller from pulling it should they change their mind, I mean come on did you really think it would? I think waynepunkdude said it best, if you dont like it I suggest you go elsewhere
20. I had a Bubinga Corvette and it looked almost identical to the grain on this, so I think it is a bubinga corvette personally, yours looks particularly nice, have a bump on me
21. Hello Ladies and Gents, I spotted these on the bay, they certainly look nice, if I didnt know any better I'd say they looked like a bass that would cost much more than 200 quid, but anyone had any experience with them in terms of sound or playability? Heres a link to one on the bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alden-Jupiter-Bass-S...1QQcmdZViewItem
