1. They pop up on the bay a fair bit, I'd say thats your best bet
2. I'd never pay 20k for a slab of wood no matter how old it was or who it was made by. Madness, madness I say!
3. Have you thought about changing the pups and preamp to get the sound your after? Might be an easier route to go down instead of selling it? Or do you definately need that extra string?
4. I will never buy a Ric simply because they are such a bunch of piss takers, a 40% hike due to increased costs on materials blah blah, if thats the case why arent other bass companies all hiking their prices up by 40% to compensate like Ric feel it nessecary to do? Its pure money making, plain and simple.
5.
Erm, wasn't it Stuart Zender? Mark Ronson was on guitar, for sure. I figured some BBC Anorak meassured the decal and decided that it constituted advertising, compelling Mr. Zender to cover the "F" logo with unsightly black Gaffer tape. I note Mr. Ronson's Gibson remained unmolested. That, or it's a Squier Or some P copy that isn't licensed! Perhaps the bottom of his headstock will fall off if he untapes it?
Ah so thats who he was, I've always liked his playing in the early Jamiroquai albums, I've seen him once or twice but I didnt recognise him this time round. Perhaps if he didnt want fender to get free advertising why play their basses? If he's that bothered why not have a Luthier custom build him something with a blank headstock?
6. Hello, did anyone else see Friday Night with Jonathon Ross? They had a few musicians on and they did the number "Oh My God" by the Kaiser Chiefs. What intrigued me was at first glance it looked like the bass player (not the regular Kaiser chiefs player) was playing an old fender precision bass that appeared to have a chunk missing from the headstock, so I thought perhaps it was a custom made bass with a quirky styled headstock, but at closer glance it looked like the logo of the bass had been covered up with a strip of black tape. I wonder why he would do this, any suggestions?

8. Ah I see, good luck with the sale, have a bump.
9. Are they HZ's? I thought they put the HZ's on the Rebop's but not the legends? I thought the legends came with EMG SSD?
10. Well, basically what you get extra for your money is the following, a gloss finish as opposed to the satin one, a fender moulded hard case as opposed to a gig bag, and the option of a maple fretboard which I dont think the highway precisions have, but I could be wrong. The Highway basses now come with badass bridges which are just as good as the American standard bridges if not better. The satin finish is designed to wear and chip quickly giving your bass that mojo vintage type vibe. The gig bags you get with the highway basses are pretty good. Basically if you want a better finish and a better resale value I'd go with the American standard. By the way the S1 switch on a precision is crap, it just makes it sound thin and weak, the S1 on a jazz however is brilliant.
11. This is the first CT bass Ive seen for sale on this forum, and that goes for the previous two aswell, very tasty indeed.
12. What kind of sound quality do u get from these? Something similar to a squire?
13. yes I do believe it is
14. One of the most obvious scams Ive seen on ebay yet
15. Those two vintage precisions are probbably two of the best looking basses Ive ever seen, you lucky b*stard!
16. To all u leftys out there, I would imagine these are fairly rare, its the first one Ive seen http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEFT-HANDED-GB-SPITF...1QQcmdZViewItem potential bargain to be had?
17. Nice figured maple neck though, and the bridge looks good and chunky, I'd say it would be worth a punt if you get it for under £60, you never know it might play like a dream, if u dont like it stick back on evilbay
18.
flea never used stingray's on his recordings unless its a five stringer track. BSSM was a spector as far as I know.
Ive heard that flea used a wal on the blood sugar sex magic album, Ive also heard he doesnt like the sound of a stingray used for recording but likes the sound of them live?
19. Its always been a stingray as far as I know, until blood sugar sex magic when it was a wal on some tracks, then he moved to a modulus before moving to a vintage jazz and now he's back on the modulus, so Im pretty sure its a stingray
20. Is he the same fella who was selling the lake placid blue one aswell? Thats a stunner of a bass congratulations, I have no doubt you'll get many compliments on it when u play it live
21. too big of a chunk of finish has been taken out of that horn if u ask me, and he's been at it with a screwdriver or something u can see the marks where he's dug into the wood, would of been nice if he kept it a little bit more subtle
22. This looks rather nice, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pre-Ernie-Ball-Music...1QQcmdZViewItem
23. I know this particular finish seems to divide opinion quite a bit, you either like or hate it, but I think this is one smart looking bass and I intend to have one of these someday, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-PRECISION-197...1QQcmdZViewItem
24. This to me looks like a nicely aged example, I like the off white, He's had it defretted but the grooves havent been filled in so could be easily fretted again, I'd have a go on this myself if I wasnt saving up for a trip abroad http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aria-Pro2-Cat-series...1QQcmdZViewItem
25. Last one I saw of these went for $4000 in America, pretty rare from what I understand. Nice bass
