1. Probbably a bit of a marmite bass, I know it would be disliked by the traditional fender heads, but I think it looks quite smart http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-HM-5-String-E...1QQcmdZViewItem
2. This guy has had some real gems up on the bay before but this by far is the nicest he's had http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-75-JAZZ-BASS-...1QQcmdZViewItem
3. It will prob be one of those basses that hangs around on the bay for a while remaining at a stupidly high price, like that fella who's trying to shift his japanese jazz for about £800 second hand
4. "I have therefore set a very fair price for a quick sale" The word Chancer springs to mind, surely he would know that anyone who was interested in buying a bass of this calibre would do there homework and see that its far too expensive and you can easily get a new EB sterling for that price if you shop around and haggle, it wont sell.
5. I know that alot of us have probbably got the flea dvd where hes being intrviewed by River Phoenix, so I was scouring youtube for some flea bass solo stuff, supprisingly there isnt that much say compared to claypool or wooten, anyways, I found a couple of good slap solo's if slap is your thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPGlB8PZ448 I think this one is off a Chad Smith tutorial dvd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FrI5lNvCnQ For me I have to say I enjoy seeing flea slap more than any other player, for instance wooten is a bit too technical for me, where as fleas style is fun and manic and that bit more funky and raw than claypool, but this is just my opinion.
6. I do agree its prob time to put this post to rest, but Im not entirely sure If I buy that explanation tbh, firstly he posts on the forum telling you to leave it and move on, then he tries to sell it on here and again on ebay in just a matter of days after having supposedly bought it from the seller, It all sounds dodgy to me and the fact he wont explain himself on the public forum just adds to the dodgyness
7. hmmmmm
8. just looks like shapes painted on, its not been relic'd its just had random patches sanded, looks sh*te
9. I wouldnt touch the one with the bent neck and the duff pickup
10.
The second one just says 'Solid Body'. They look great though.
Yeah I noticed that, probbably two or three slabs of something cheap, still they look pretty boutique though! Im tempted to have a go on the sunburst just to see how it turns out
11. cant comment on the sound or playability, and the ad wording is a bit cheesey, but the bass looks quite classy, like a lakland copy <a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electric-Bass-Guitar...1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electric-Bass-Guitar...1QQcmdZViewItem</a> and the sunburst is also a bit of a looker http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/E-J-Bass-de-luxe-Le-...2QQcmdZViewItem
12. Hello all, after reading somebody mention Teisco basses in the Kawai bass post I thought I might type it in to ebay for a laugh, have a look at some vintage jap crap or whatever, and most of what I saw was all under the £100 mark apart from two of them, the first was around £300 from everybodys faviroute seller in germany, and the second one was in denmark street, not a vintage one but a re-issue, at a whopping £999! Now are Teisco making some tremendous comeback and starting to make boutique basses, or is the shop in denmark street taking the p*ss by selling a bit of an obscure brand for a lot of money? They say its a faithful reproduction of one from the 1960's. see for yourselves here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Teisco-Spectrum-EBX-...VQQcmdZViewItem
13. One of the most stunning basses Ive ever seen
14. You taking up the guitar now?
15. Nice looker!
16. Looks alright for £640 to me http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ernie-Ball-MusicMan-...1QQcmdZViewItem
17. What a joker, he knows he's taking the piss, he's just hoping that there's a small chance some gullible rich fool has more money than sense
18.
Now I know there are loads of you just waiting for the next thrilling instalment so here it is. e-Mail received earlier this evening. I am afraid i am out of "tea and sympathy". Hi I just need to know what i can do now. The bass has gone, i have nothing much else to offer as i am just a student. i only have i other bass which is a Fender Marcus Miller Jazz which i have been trying to sell for some time now but would be sold for a lot more than the musicman as i bought it from dawsons in manchester for £750 and would want £650-£700 with a hardcase included. I also have a huge pill of ipod socks which i could let you have for free. Please just let me know what you would like me to do as i am a bit shaken up by this and dont know what else to say to make you happy. Sam Not sure if I shouuld put a post in Items For Sale and see if I can get rid of any "ipod socks"
So, has he admitted to selling the bass to somebody else then? surely if, according to him, he's having it repaired then the bass is still in his possesion just elsewhere being "fixed" as it were, so now he's saying the bass has left his possesion completely?
19. To be fair he may have bought it and something better came along so he might just be trying to recoup his money
20. yeah he's talking sh*te, he's telling you its busted and being repaired, he told me it was sold for the price it ended at auction, I think he's sold it to someone else personally
21. Nice! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Custom-Warwick-Bass-...1QQcmdZViewItem
22. Hello all, here's a cheap custom bass that I saw on ebay at a BIN of £200, its probbably not a proper custom but an eastern made bass that looks like one, anyways anyone who wants a Ken smith lookalike for pennys might be interested, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/hand-built-custom-fi...1QQcmdZViewItem
23.
And the latest when I pushed him for the pictures and an address. By "My friend will be selling on eBay must mean a different eBay account he is going to create. Hi, i am sorry for the delay in reply but i am away Birmingham for the week. My friend has taken the bass of my hands to repair and will be selling on ebay for me when he is done, so i would keep a eye on eBay. Thanks anyway, bit annoyed as i have had to pay eBay fees for the sale but oh well it happens. Sam
Thats bullshit he told me it sold
24. I got the reply from him saying that "the bass was sold at the price it went for", well we know it hasnt because you've not got it, if it didnt sell to you where did it go? methinks he's sold it to someone else who's offered him more or he's keeping it.
25. As I understand it these are quite rare arent they? I think they were made famous when Nirvana's bassist started using them, anyways ones shown up on the bay might be of interest to a vintage head on here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rare-1977-Ibanez-BLA...1QQcmdZViewItem
