  1. Oak has a very nice grain and is very hard wearing, and it has a fairly neutral colour so it matches most colour schemes
  2. I had Sandberg build me a custom tt from ash with an ebony fretboard, they were spot on with their work and time estimate, I would definitely have another
  3. I’ve got this type, which saves carrying 2 although I don’t use it very often now
  4. A marking gauge, nice job si, the colour and grain looks like mahogany
  5. Do you have a friend nearby who can bid for you 🙂
  6. Not sure if I’ve posted anything by Jah Sun before, but here’s a great one by them off their album magic and madness.
  7. I haven’t had much experience with the squires , but a lot of people here have, but every mim one I’ve had has been good, maybe I’ve been lucky. not sure if you’ve seen this thread,
  8. I don’t know what your budget is but I’ve had and I’ve still got some really good mim jazz basses, and if you’re not happy with something they are easy to upgrade 🙂 edit, I’ve just seen your budget
  9. That’s really bad , considering it hasn’t worked properly since you bought it
  10. I built the one on the left to play in and I’ve got an old Ashdown mag 300 and 2 TE15s in there, and the insulation made a massive difference to the sound , and it’s really warm in the winter with just a small electric heater, I used earthwool , which was a lot cheaper than celotex 🙂
  11. Very cool and great use of the ironing board ☝️you’ve really got some pedals there
  12. Love that story, that’s great, and the bass looks cool 👍
  13. @Joebass out of interest was I right in what I thought 🙂
  14. Depending on what finish you want I would recommend Danish oil, I’ve used it on hardwood kitchen worktops, it’s really hard wearing and it protects against water, but like most finishes it will mark with something very hot , you can also build up the depth with more coats 🙂
  15. Hi b5 , hope you are well, thanks very much for that I’ll take a look 👍
  16. I love these questions and I wish I knew more about it and had more time to study . the way I know it is , from C to E is a major third, and C to Eb is a minor third, but isn’t the E below C a minor sixth 🤔
  17. Thanks jazzy, my US 62s are nitro and I like that finish and I’ll keep an eye on the hardware 👍
  18. I came across this site while I was looking for something else, there’s some interesting info here 🙂 https://1970sfenderbasstrivia.wordpress.com/
  19. Thanks very much guys, some great information here 👍
  20. That’s a nice jazz lefty👍, How does that work that they are Japanese/US, are they made in both countries 🙂
  21. My one has only been used a few times and I’ve got quite a few bits , if you want to borrow it Hiram you’re welcome 👍
  22. That’s a good idea, with the right bits the dremel is a great tool
