  1. With basses I’m unfamiliar with I like to play them before I buy them, but unfortunately this one is too far from me to do that
  2. Not at all, it’s a nice bass, good luck tayste ☝️
  3. Thanks Geek 🙂 I do keep going back for another look , I’ve got my eye on a few things at the moment and can’t make my mind up 😁
  4. Thanks dan, most of the reading I’ve done seems to say , that they are quality instruments and play really well
  5. Same 😁
  6. Very nice, that would match my jazz
  7. New mini amp day😁, surprisingly loud for such a little thing
  8. Does anyone here own one of these
  9. Thread resurrection here for this, nice groove and a great Bassline
  10. Welcome Maz 👍
  11. A 71 P with flats, beautiful 👍
  12. I normally know fairly quickly whether I’m going to like a slap video, the groove has to get me first, then the sound/tone of it, I do struggle a bit to get a nice slap tone, it’s either too bassy or too twangy, but that’s probably my poor playing 😁, this one has a nice groove and sounds great to me , and the double thumbing is amazing
  13. Clinton Fearon is doing some great tracks at the moment with Kubix, here’s one from a few days ago, great Bassline, I may have to steal this one and probably one of my favourite Clinton tunes which he normally plays on acoustic, this is great
  14. A track from Clinton Fearon released a few days ago, nice groove
  15. There was a first bass thread last year
  16. Hi and welcome Helen 👍, has he looked at any basses and what sort of things does he like the look of, maybe have a browse through something like eBay for ideas and let us know and the good folks of basschat can advise 🙂
  17. I’m not generally a gold hardware person, but in this instance I think it matches the body wood colours very well, I like the design of the knobs too
  18. @Geddys nose, how’s the neck coming along
  19. Thanks very much for this, very well explained 👍
  20. I think I understand what you’re saying Andy, My fender jazzes and precisions adjust both ways , but I could never quite get my 414 rod to work properly, I later found out that it had a fault
  21. Both really , I just wondered how the single action rod worked on the Yamaha, thanks
  22. Thanks Andy, so if the strings pull it forward, do you then tighten the nut to hold it there
  23. If the truss rod nut is completely loose, it would have back bow , right? wouldn’t tightening it with the strings on help, or is it not that sort of rod 🙂
