  1. The serial number for a 79 would be on the headstock starting S9 , but it doesn’t look the right shape to me for a fender, I’m guessing the decal has been added
  2. Listening to some Freddie McKay tonight, great riddim and dub at 3.18
  3. Yeah, it just looks wrong to me, I’d steer clear myself
  4. As I understand it all 70s precisions have the truss rod adjustment at the heel, the jazz had the bullet at the headstock, I haven’t got FB but it did let me see the picture briefly, hasn’t that one got 21 frets?
  5. Great stuff, you can definitely go down a rabbit hole with Flabba, he’s played on so many tracks it’s unbelievable, there’s not many reggae artists that the Roots Radics haven’t backed at some time or other (especially Gregory Isaacs) , definitely in my top 3 favourite players, love a bit of Tubby too, one of the first albums I bought was King ,Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown, and I think I’ve still got it somewhere , it’s great to give that a listen every now and again
  6. Looks good, just wondering..have you got long arms 😁
  7. For anyone who likes Jamerson you might enjoy this video, some nice playing and good info
  8. Great one mcnach, a little claim to fame that I have is that I met jimmy and all the band at the after party at the O2, such a great bunch of guys and very humble , wonderful musicians
  9. Great discovery Lozz, they are a very good band and have a certain style I’d say, you probably have heard some of their earlier stuff, they had an album out in around 78 called Handsworth Revolution which was pretty big, the bass player then was Ronald McQueen who Was quite a technical player I’d say, it’s worth a listen if you haven’t already, I like this track
  10. Leonard Dillon off the One Step Forward album, I like the bass on this
  11. Hi David and welcome, firstly I’d like to offer my condolences, I used to chat with your father often and I miss that greatly, unfortunately I’m in London so a bit far away to help you, but I’m sure someone here closer will be able to help, good luck David, Tony
  12. I could see that working, as you say if it’s the right Allen key size and it’s cut in accurately
  13. Great idea but I’ve never seen one, they are good my jazz elite has one
  14. Wicked tune from Omar Perry, I’ll be playing this bassline later
  15. I can’t tell from that picture posted, I haven’t looked it up though
  16. Pretty sure natural finish was an option in the early 70s, I think it was in the 72 catalog so it could be the original finish, but €12 k is way steep
  17. If you sent me a bass with a low action I’d be over the moon, even if they wanted it higher all they needed to do is raise it a touch, sounds to me like they just wanted an excuse to return it
  18. A couple of recent ones from the great Mykal Rose I’m liking , new reggae releases is worth following and
  19. Thanks snorks, it must have been one of mine then 😁
  20. Does anyone recognise this precision I’m looking at with the initials TM on the front, I’m sure I’ve seen it before somewhere but can’t remember where
  21. Very cool J Bass, thanks for sharing
  22. I’ve heard from Don Chandler @donstrumental and tomorrow he’ll be launching a reggae bass course for anyone interested on Reggae Bass Hub
