    Nice to see another of my old basses for sale again (that's two today)!! Anyway, this very nice vintage 'Ray look was created by the Beedster and the John East pre was built to his spec too, so it's quite a unique bass. My memory of it is that it had a lot of tonal variety thanks to the sweepable mid e.q. and it was light and comfortable to play.. One other good thing was that for a 34" scale bass, the B string is really excellent on this, as it is on a lot of Stingrays.. Oh, and I sold it on because I wanted a passive 5 string, otherwise I would have kept it. Gave me a bit of nostalgia seeing it just now I must admit and it has had a few BC owners who may well feel the same; Beedster, me, WalMan, JoJo Bass (I think) etc, etc.. So it's done the rounds, but don't let that put you off..It's a good bass! Good luck with the sale; certainly a lot of bass for the money! P.S. that's a very lovely looking garden...

    Afraid I can't add any more knowledge on the origins of this bass - I got it from The Butler 2 years ago IIRC (though there is a thread about it somewhere I think). All I can say is that is was pretty decent then but now, with all these mods, this is the bargain of the year!! Wouldn't mind it back myself but I'm still involved in getting my rig right really... Anyway, just to say good luck with the sale!

    The Goodfellow is a fantastic looking bass and, having played one quite similar, I know that they sound amazing!

    Good price for this as a complete rig and £40 for the cab is a real bargain! Love the look of that SWR 2x12 by the way....

I equally love lots of other bass players who don't use a pick. It's all down to how good the individual musician is IMO and how you connect with their sound and style of playing!

    Thanks folks! That helps a lot.. Never hear of the Wobo before but it sounds like a very good unit, though perhaps it's a little more difficult to get hold of than the Boss and a bit more expensive! I think that the LS-2 will probably suffice for my needs and the fact that it can also be used as a volume boost is a very attractive additional feature. I'm just a little concerned by the fact it may affect your natural tone (though the Harmony Central jury seems 'out' on that point).

    Boss LS-2

    Hi Folks Just wondering what the Boss LS-2 is all about; what people use them for etc, etc. I was thinking I'd like a pedal that would allow me to be able to alter the signal chain in my Effects board from one effect to another, without having to pull all the leads apart.. Is it right for that sort of thing? Thanks for the help! Nik

    Played at a wedding yesterday; got paid well (good) but as it was outside in a marquee and it was chilly, hardly anyone bothered coming into to watch, dance or even heckle (bad)! Shame really, as we had a great sound, played well and even managed to do a flawless version of 'Live and Let Die' for the first time ever.. We have done some good ones before, but most of the time I find wedding gigs (compared to most others we do) are really, really awful.. Is that true generally or is it just me??
