Hehe She's playing the Epiphone ET-180 or something - a little short scale bass which I will have up for sale soon. Tayste has one, too. Cheers ped
Cool! Let me know when..might well be interested..
It was trying CK's Shuttle 6.0 with the first ever Compact at the SE Bass Bash last September that got me interested. Funny thing is that my main rig is a U5/PLX so you'd think I'd prefer a Markbass head. My problem now is going to be what to gig with? A Big One, a Vintage, a Compact, a Midget/Compact. Decisions, decisions... First thing first is to find how just how loud this micro-head can push the Big One! Alex
I remember watching that momentous event happening last year Alex! Very interested to hear what you have to say once you try the various combinations out..
Pete Stevens built a 3 octave fretless bass for Steve Chesney, but I don't know of any 36 fret Wal basses. Also, I haven't seen any through neck Wal basses.
I've never seen a through-neck Wal either; I think that Pete & Wal felt that a properly made bolt-on provided more than enough sustain.. Great idea this thread - should it be made into a sticky at some point Mods???
Martin, read it, it's facinating, you won't be disappointed. You will think so differently of Roger Waters after reading it.
Ina good way or a bad way?? Am very intruiged now so will have to go and seek this book out.. -
Just had the pleasure of dealing with Neil, a.k.a. Banana, who has just bought an SWR 210 from me.. Though Neil is based in Spain, communicating with him was as easy as anything and he was great to deal with. All round, a first rate transaction! Thanks Neil - hope you enjoy using the cab.. Nik
I bought Nik's SWR 2x10. He was truly great to deal with, flexible, helpful, reasonable and it was just a pleasure. Thanks Nik, really appreciate it all.
Many thanks Neil.. Much appreciate you buying it in the first place!! Will leave you some feedback now as well... Nik
Could I have the rack case Nik?
Of course Chris! I'll PM you..
I'll take the Soundcraft and Tascam please mate.
Some other Basschatters have PM'd me about the TASCAM & Soundcraft, but in the interests of fairness, I am going to have to apply the 'first come, first served rule so likewise John, PM on it's way to you about these two items... Jack; I bought the bright box from Amps 'n' Bits in Worthing 2 years ago as an experiment to use with my (then) GK700RB head and a Marshall 412 to try to bring out the hi-end in my sound via the GK's bi-amp system. The bright box was quite good actually but I moved the Marshall on in the end as it wasn't really the sound I was looking for, so the bright box has sat around unused since then. Not much more I can say about it really.. Hope that helps!

ON HOLD PENDING PAYMENT.. Hi Folks, I recently bought this Boss LS-2 Line selector pedal from Stickman to use during gigs where I have an active bass & a passive bass (with very different output levels) going into one input on my Eden Nemesis amp. But, now that I've upgraded my rig to the 2-channel Eden Metro, this brilliant pedal is now surplus to my requirements. The LS-2 is an excellently designed unit as many Boss stomp-boxes are; really well made, simple to use and it's in fantastic condition and perhaps most importantly, it does so many other things over and above what I bought it for! Being realistic though, I know I won't make use of all of those capabilities.. To give you an idea of what it can do, here's a link to some Harmony Central reviews which explain a lot more about it: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...e+Selector/25/2 As you can see from the pictures, it comes in the original box with the manual, is in very good condition and works perfectly! So, bearing all of that in mind, I'd like to get back what I paid for it, which was: £45 inc p&p. Any questions, feel free to PM me or just ask away here. Thanks for looking! Nik
Nice to see so many still going by the way.
+1 There's been a fantastic bass-making tradition in this country that's worked in tandem with some of the most innovative bass players of the last 30-40 years to help push bass guitar to the fore in popular music, and long may it continue!
What are the connectors on the back? XLR or jacks? Thanks
Jacks IIRC... Very interesting unit this.. For music which really feature bass at the forefront of the sound, like P-Funk, rare groove, '80's synth-pop etc, etc, it's excellent! I used it when we did a Depeche Mode number and it was perfect for that sort of stuff.. Also, used the octaver on 'Superstition' which was cool as well..

It's a 450 watt cab by all accounts... Should be OK provided you don't overdo it on your master volume.. Have a look here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...;hl=mesa+boogie

Just sold my Yamaha NE1 to Emperormingus, a.k.a. John, who was great to deal with! He's relatively new to Basschat but I'm very happy to recommend him to one and all.. Thanks a lot John - hope to see you around here more often! Nik

Just bought Crez's Metro + 210 and it's absolutely brilliant! This one is a newer set-up with the improved 210 speaker design, so it should be even better sounding rig. For this money, I can't see much else that can compare.. Obviously, shipping is an issue but perhaps you could try either APC or Interparcel for a quote because they've both been very reasonable when I've used them? Good luck with it!

Got a few things on my list... ..starting with an old Wal Pro bass (that's currently hanging up at the Wal factory at the moment) and if he'd do it, I'd have it modded into a 5 string by Paul Herman to make it the only Wal Pro V in the world. Plus a decent P bass (because every home should have one)!

Very nice..Quite 'Ritter-esque', which is no bad thing!
Peds got a new girlfriend.
All good Ped! Is she French as well, like your Vigier? By the way, what is that lovely looking old bass in the pictures..?
