Yes, sold here a year or two ago (from me to elom)...recently on Manson's website...
Thought so.. I remember being tempted to go for it myself at the time, because it's a real quality instrument..
They surely did - just sold mine. Lovely bass.
Cool.. got any pics?

I used to have one of these, from the first production run they did in the early 90's and it was absolutely brilliant! Mine was stolen by someone who I vaguely knew (but I could never prove it) and it still annoys me even now thinking about it... Anyway, just to say that these pedals are fantastic and good luck with the sale!
Hi Silverfoxnik, only the knobs have changed, the original ones will be included. in my oppinion black knobs look to hard on this white beaty so i ordered at a german luthier those chrome knobs with mother of pearl inlays. This is the only change.
I agree with you; the custom ones look much better and are very distinctive!

Congratulations; that a fantastic looking set up!

Very nice too! And what's more, a bass bought with 'the wife's' blessing... now that is special!
God this is lovely. What is such a rare beast doing in Leatherhead? ;-)
+1 I bet it sounds fantastic too! Didn't they do a Manson Kestrel model about that time as well...?
Yes indeed.. I'm the same Roman. Did we ever meet? I haven't heard the name Raising Cain in a long time! I used this bass on most of the sessions did there in the 80's. I now work with a different company in the US, called US Masters ( the link is in the previous posting) and I really love their basses (and guitars actually) It took a lot for me to change basses as I played the Goodfellow for well over 15 years. Cheers, Roman
Hi Roman Cool and yes, we did meet! You were friends with Paul Barber who worked there for Nick & Ian and I was in a band with Paul (Kickback) and he was our drummer.. I was the bass player of course.. I saw your band quite a few times and always enjoyed your playing a lot, as did Paul! Last I heard, Paul moved to Brisbane Australia in the early 90's... Those were the days! Nik

Hi Steve Glad to hear you made over to NZ safely and that things are looking more positive for you! That photograph is stunning - what a view! That natural beauty on it's own is enough to make the spirits lift I would have thought.. Anyway, good luck with it all.... No doubt we'll be hearing more from you soon! Nik
Hello! My name's Roman and I'm new to this blog/chat thing, so if I offend anyone with the incorrect chat etiquette, I apologise in advance. I'm a Brit who's been living in the US for around 18 years and I have one of the early, original Goodfellows that I got in '85 or so. It has no serial number (unless it's hidden under the neck where it meets the body). It has been sitting in my closet for about a dozen years now, as I have had a sponsorship with another small bass company here in the US called US Masters. (here's a link if anyone's interested http://usmasters.com/bassgallery.htm) I'm trying to find out what my Goodfellow is worth as I would like to sell it. It's a great instrument and deserves to be played. Any help that you can offer would be most appreciated. Here are some photos Cheers, Roman
Hi Roman Very nice bass ... Did you ever use it back the at a place in London called Prime Time, a rehearsal studio near London Bridge? Saw one like it there years ago and the guy who owned it was also called Roman and he played in a band called 'Raising Cain' if I recall correctly? Hence the reason for asking! Anyway, good luck with it... Nik
Hi all I've been experimenting with Lightbox, and took the opportunity to try it out on my bass gallery page. Feel free to drop by and have a look (and listen!) I'll put the kettle on, but you'll have to bring your own biscuits. I'm not allowed them. This way for WoT's own little corner of cyberspace...
Fantastic in just about every department thanks! Great idea, cool layout, excellent equipment & basses.. and nice playing too! -

Wow... Really sorry to see these 2 lovely basses up for sale Stu! Your Candy Copper fretted J5 is one of the best looking basses I have ever seen on Basschat and I'm sure, given that, it's quality and pedigree, you will have a lot of interest in it... The fretless is quite a stunner too! Hope things improve for you and good luck with the two sales.. Nik
Yes, Nick Gates our drummer deps for Micky Hart sometimes and used to be in Rum Boogie who now are no more. Nik our guitarist and harp player plays bass for Micky Hart (and I dep for him with them sometimes) and he used to be the Rum Boogie bassist (except for a year when he was in Colombia and I was Rum Boogie bassist). I've heard very good reports about Burning Organ but never actually seen you. And mr_russ I think i know too because I taught him when he was at BHASVIC. Well, thanks very much for that - you're too generous I'm sure. The Dover Castle, Southover Street, Hanover, Brighton, Sunday 7th June, 8.30pm. The Ranelagh, St James's Street, Kemptown, Brighton, Wednesday 15th July, 8.30pm. The Romans in Southwick too but I can't find the date at the moment. Be nice to see you if you can make any of those - make sure you say hello.
Cool! Please say hi to Nick (drums) for me... and The Romans would be a good one for me, so I'll have to look it up on their website.. Will definitely see you at one of your gis and will come and say hello! -
I went in to work on Monday and one of my colleagues told me she had been to the Southwick Beer Festival over the weekend and had seen a really good band. I asked who they were and she told me they were called Burning Organ...
That's good to know, thanks!
