Keeping this too nice to sell! New setup, new strings, new price! Just had this setup by a local luthier, new set of DR Flatwounds sounds and plays brilliantly. Immaculate Washburn AB35 fretless 5 string electro acoustic bass in gloss sunburst finish for sale. One of the finest electro acoustic basses ever made and sadly now discontinued. Single cutaway spruce and book matched figured mahogany body, unmarked rosewood bound fingerboard 35. Washburn Equis plus electronics, includes both jack output and XLR balanced line out so can be plugged straight to PA as well as back line amp. Highly regarded and discontinued. Would be wee bit worried about posting. Looking for around £320. Very open to trades.
check these two caps with a meter or just replace them as they are only cheap, they dry up over time and the legs rott ( go green !) sometimes its distorting sometimes its lack of tight bottom end.
Cheers that's really helpful I'm waiting to put the bass into get the jack fixed, I'll say to the luthier when I see him next.

As I said folks only really interested in a trade for something interesting, I really like the bass but you know how it is. The value of the potential bass traded for mine is irrelevant to me, if someone is interested in the ibby and have something they want to move on that I'm interested in then cool. Also as I said I'd potentially put some cash up for the right trade. It's just a feeler at the mo anyhoo. -

Hi folks just not sure if I want to trade this bass but I've just picked up a Ric and I'm not sure I need the 70s Ibanez Copy of a well known brand. It's a great bass and sounds fantastic. Been fitted with an aluminium hipshot bridge and a pickguardian but I have all the original bits and bobs minus a screw or two. It's beautiful example of a 70s lawsuit faker. Just been setup by Jimmy Egypt in Glasgow. I'm looking for a precision or jazz and perhaps a 5 string, traditional looks really. Not interested in cash unless it's cash going your way. PM for more info and pics etc In light of all the controversy I dunno if this is contravening some rules so apologies in advance. With hipshot and pickgaurdian These pics are pre pickguardian and hipshot. Right just an update, it's not the amp or the preamps, it's the bass. Currently my Wal has a dodgy jack connection which I'm waiting to get a replaced as it is quite an unusual component. Do any of you guys reckon that this might cause the distortion? It totally feels like the battery needs changed but it's a new battery. The bass sounds great then after about a hour playing it starts to distort could it be the battery is always running?

I've went off the idea now!

Thanks I'll have a look in the for sale section, the bass has been appraised by a respected luthier so I'm going to give him a call. The bloke selling it has given quite a lot of info I don't think it's schonky in that respect just thinking of a fair price.

Anyone got any idea what a mid 70s jazz, all original apart from an older neck should come in at? I've saw one and I like it just don't know much about fenders!

Cheers guys the bass was just in to get a broken battery snap fixed and I replaced the battery but I'll change it just to check. On the amp front the drummer in my band heard the fan really whining so over heating is potentially an issue. Sorry about the sh*t thread title!

Alright folks my rig has started distorting quite badly I thought I'd blown the speakers in my cabs, however, I went for a quick jam with my drummer and the bass sounded tremendous initially but then got progressively more distorted. Could it be the power amp? It's both channels. Also I noticed the jack on my bass was a bit noisy could a dodgy connection on the bass result in this farty distortion? I'm going to try another bass asap.

somebody buy this before I sell a vital organ

I actually emailed the seller and he kindly met me and showed me the bass, it was immaculate, a real beauty. Though I'm quite surprised at how much it went for, I was all set to offer 2500 but it just went through the roof. -
Cheers man I'll give that a try I, unfortunately the mic is out of the question as I don't want to incur the wrath of an angry two year old! It's essentially a guide and will be rerecorded but I still would like it to sound half decent.

Hi folks I need some tips on the best software amp for a fretless, I'm using logic I have guitar rig and amplitube, (the ampeg VSX demo won't work which is infuriating). When I play through my amp the bass sounds great, even taking into account my liberal view of tuning but when I go through the audio interface it's sounds flat and not very fretlessy. The fretted basses sound fine. I am something of a luddite when it come to EQ and all that jazz so does anyone have any suggestions, I have a small person and can only do this in the evening so I can only DI. It's a small section of a very long tune so I'm not looking for the ultimate tone but just something that doesn't sound sh*te.
