1. I came by this bass in trade a while back and have hardly touched it. Great bass but I just have too many and not enough time to play them. The person I got the bass from had it from new in 2002 he reckoned it was made sometime between 1999 and 2002. It's in great condition and looks and sounds fantastic. Not really looking for a trade unless for some bass pedals! Postage not included but a heavy duty case is. 2. The Boss and GLX are still available.
3. Bump for price drop
4.
Having said all that, I've just checked out the Streamliner 900 and it looks like the control you're talking about is just a gain control, so I'm wrong, you do just want a boost. Alternatively it's just a push switch so it'd be fairly easy to wire that up to a jack on the back you're not using, and plug a footswitch in to that.
Cheers Tom I've bought Tayste's boost pedal I'm going to give that a go. I reckon messing with the wiring is a bit beyond my ken unfortunately. And sorry for not explaining myself properly in the first instance mate, I was confusing myself there!
5. Bump now looking for a clean boost
6.
If you use passive basses then the cream pie is an awesome buy as it will do clean boost, dirty boost, overdrive and treble boost.
Hey Tayste thanks for the info it's really helpful, I reckon it would be used primarily with an active bass so I'll have to factor that in.
7. I've actually got an aphex
I've got a Catalinbread Chili for sale at the moment if it's of any interest.
Thanks for the info and that looks quite like what I'm after.
Good idea. Maybe a compressor would do this as well?
I actually have a punch factory for sale that might do the trick.
8.
I reckon you might be better with a treble boost, or an EQ to boost just specific frequencies. A normal clean boost might give you too much low
Cheers would the treble boost cut out the lows? As long as it wasn't too extreme.
9. Bit of background info. Looking for a bit of info I have a Streamliner 900 which I don't really use. But had a wee jam with it the other day and it sounds excellent. The only thing I found annoying there is no way to switch between the overdriven high gain setting and the normal gain settings. The guitar player in my band suggested getting a boost pedal to drive the tubes and give me a bit of overdrive when required. He uses an mxr micro amp and get's a really nice mellow distortion. I'm just looking for something to give the bass an edge every now and again would a clean boost pedal do the job? And what are the recommendations?
10. Bump still looking for an overdrive!
11. Peter bought a pedal off me a real pleasure to deal with recommended!
12. I've got one for sale I thought it was excellent but I'm getting rid of my pedals, I replaced the power supply (I think it's the same one). http://basschat.co.uk/topic/198598-pedals-and-things-boss-ceb-3-aphex-punch-factory-mxr-and-others/

16. Great band, great bass player.
17. This sounds great I've been looking for something like this.
18. Cheers Bartleby and Stu, I was thinking of plant stands or this looks cool http://www.ikeahackers.net/2010/06/vika-curry-speaker-stand.html , though the stands in Richer sounds are 39 quid.
19. Have to say I'm over it plugged the Cyrus into the airport express, dug out my old Celestions and it was the all about the 80s, the Blue Nile, Dave Sylvian etc excellent. I really think it'll get me back into listening to music properly again I'm very pleased. Definitely going to get the Fiio DAC that Dingus recommended and start ripping CDs using Apple Lossless. It's also had the knock on effect of me actually getting the other front room together as opposed to using it to store various things after moving in a few months ago. So everyone is happy. I just need some budget speaker stands (and so it begins)!
20. Picked up one of these, a Cyrus Straight Line, based on the Cyrus 3. In great nick and looks awesome need some cables to try it though. Thanks for the info and advice everyone. 21.
p.s Can I just say how old it makes me feel when you descibe a Cyrus 2 as looking " proper old school". I remember when these amps came out and everyone who saw them marvelled at how modern and futuristic they looked .
Unfortunately I remember that as well and no-one is fooled by my attempt at hip chat! Thanks for your posts they've been really helpful the Cyrus is no longer an option but I've been offered a Marantz PM4400, which looks good it's actually only a few years old but I believe the model was unchanged for years, I think it's in great nick, do you have any opinion on this model? Because the airport express has an optical out an amp with an optical input would be great but they seem thin on the ground, certainly on a budget. The TEAC AH01 looks great but I'd just be buying a new amp and this is just meant to be something for the spare room and I don't want to start getting into hi fi and developing another expensive hobby!
22.
I use one of these and I love it. http://www.amazon.co...51351220&sr=1-8
These look great
23. Potentially looking at a Cyrus 2 proper old school but it looks great.
24. I am potentially going to get a rotel for buttons but there is a Cyrus 2 for a bit more
25. Now obsessively looking at ebay and gumtree.
