1. Cheers man I'm really looking forward to it, you had any more interest in yours it's a beauty?
2. My brother is making his way up to Chilly Jocko land from the Smoke with my new bass in tow (cheers Alanbass1) and I'm suitably excited.
3. Looks great really cool.
4. I think it's unhealthy to have so many Wals and you guys should think about offloading at least one of them ...... to me!
5. I've used hide glue a few times on various cracks and it's generally worked well, I have wondered about the humidity in the flat, though I live in Glasgow so you wouldn't imagine humidity would be a problem but it might be central heating.
6. Every day there seems to be another crack on my old B&H bass, been using it at rehearsals for my prog band because it just sounds so good, I dunno what it is but it just has a great tone, even makes me sound okay. Laid it down to pick up my electric and saw a big crack along the seam and a bunch of varnish flaking, I'm sure I can clamp and glue the seam but the bass seems to be disintegrating which is a great shame, I don't think I'll be taking it out of the house anymore!
7. Cheers Paul I think I'll go for some silver slaps as well, I have a festival at the weekend and the band plays pretty much all afternoon for two days and my fingers are in quite a bad nick from my Saturday gig, I think it was a combination of steels and a really hot sweaty club, my drummer suggested talcum powder to stop my fingers getting tacky but a bit late now!
8. Everybody swears by silverslaps, I had the black tapewound Rockabilly Innovation Strings, they were great for slap but I think they lacked a bit of projection but that might be all non-steel strings. I restrung the bass with Honeys which sound great but to be honest after the blisters I have from last nights gig I'm thinking of putting them back on! I'd be really interested in hearing the suggestions as well.
9. Cheers chaps much appreciated I'll give your suggestions a go.
10. Hi I recently picked up a Washburn AB35 acoustic bass it's lovely to play acoustically, though obviously not loud and it has a great sound plugged in but the G string is considerably louder than the B. I switched the saddle round and the situation was reversed obviously it's not making proper contact, any tips on how I can fix this. Cheers Stevie
11. The only problem I'm hearing is a slightly uneven volume through the piezo I might see if it's moved.
12. Just picked one of these up. was absolutely not looking for an acoustic but was overpowered by the urge to buy something, it's a 5 string lined fretless looks in great nick and from my short time playing it seemed lovely. Anyone got an info or experience of these fellas? Also anyone know of a suitable case or gigbag that would fit it?
13. Very nice looking bass that.
14. A guy I know tried a Godin copy he said it was excellent.
15.
I looked up theremins on eBay last night - I am a lost cause.
Lol I've went a bit GAS mental recently and I don't see it really subsiding!

17. All amazing Paul I really like the sunburst type finish on number 1.
18. My better half is going to a conference in Cluj in Romania next month and we decided to go for a wee family trip, turns out Cluj is very close to Reghin where there are two major double bass factories Hora and Vasile Gliga as well as numerous other Luthiers. I'm going to take a trip out and have a wee nosy round Reghin, I think another DB is out of the question but might be able to pick ups some bits and would be interesting to see prices. Anyone been there?
19. I bought one a few years back and love it though, I reckon I'll be a newbie for years to come! Got to echo what Clarky says though these big beasties swallow cash like nobodies business. I'd recommend getting a tutor at the very least to get you moving in the right direction. All the best with it mate.
20.
Try Jonas Lohse: http://www.kontrabass-atelier.de/teile_e.html
I have to say those endpins look very reasonable, I was looking at my bass today and the plug doesn't fit properly, so it is a bit angled, drives me nuts, might invest in one of them.
21. Danny Thompson just sounds amazing.
22. Amusing
