  1. 🥖 🍞 I stand corrected Mr Breadbin 🥖 🍞 and you are correct, they are great 😁
  2. One of the reasons I like the rotosound Jazz 77 flats so much is that you don’t get this friction, they are ever so slightly textured, even less than compression wound strings, but just enough to prevent that annoying friction stickiness...
  3. Surprised that no one has mentioned rotosound Jazz 77 flats......awesome strings, and having spent a small fortune on flats over the last 18 months, I’ve tried them all......
  4. Here is the answer to my enquiry Hi, Thanks for your interest in this item. As you saw, I am looking for a fast deal only and not a bidding auction, so the BUY IT NOW price that I am asking for this item is US $1500 including shipping charges. This item will come with a 30 Days Return Policy (if you are not satisfied %100 with the purchased item, you will be able to return it back on my cost and get a full refund). For a fair deal I want this transaction to be handled by eBay because they will offer protection to both of us and at the end of this transaction we will be able to exchange feedback. If you want to move forward in purchasing this item, please provide me with your FULL Name and FULL Shipping Address so I can submit our Transaction through eBay and request them to register our deal through eBay Buyer Protection Program. For more information don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you
  5. Here’s a link, looking dodgy to me.... if not someone’s in for a bargain!!!! https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132509475581
  6. There are a few “bargains” on eBay at the moment which appear to be rather dodgy, a 59 Precision for just over 1k, I emailed and they said that they wanted my details so they can register the deal under the eBay buyer transaction scheme (for my piece of mind!!!!), sounds like a load of nonsense to me as the eBay buyer protection scheme would be a normal purchase through eBay! im tempted to string him along for a while to see what happens next. he also has a number of other vintage jazz and Precisions at rediculus prices so watch out!
  7. Awesome power to size, mass, ratio with these beauties....
  8. If I can bring myself to take a set of roto 77 Jazz’s off one of my basses I may give these a go. or I could just buy another bass and fit a set 🤔
  9. I have played with a compressor for years and tried a couple of practises and a gig without. i then went straight back to using it!
  10. I’ve often thought about giving tapes a go but think they may just be a little too floppy for me, I must admit to liking a bit of tension.
  11. I have these on all my basses having been through TI flats, chromes, fender flats, pyramid flats, Labella FS and FL, GHS compression wounds.... and then back through them all again before I finally tried these. lower tension than chromes but no where near as low as TI flats, they are ever so slightly textured so not glassy smooth like some flats but this is not a bad thing as they don’t get sticky like most flats can as the slight texture reduces the friction. they start off with a strong mid similar to TI flats but quickly mellow out to a more usual flatwound powerful thump sound. I love these strings
  12. Nothing wrong with Mark Bass stuff, light and loud, tone wise they are transparent and you change tone with your preamp. Good stuff in my opinion.
  13. Chuck some flats on it, strings make a huge difference, a set of rotosound Jazz 77s will be awesome ...
  14. There is always a chance that the pickups are out of phase, that certainly makes them sound thin and crappy.
  15. Is there a matching extension cab?
  16. So how much is this going to cost me £££
  17. That must be why they invented headphone amps! I did wonder..... However, just think of the rig you could bring out your moon buggie, In just the one trip, stack up those old trace 6x10 cabs, stick a few 18s on there, it would almost be worth not hearing it...
  18. This does raise the question of when we list our basses for sale we should be quoting mass or weight. weight is a movable measurement dependant upon a number of factors, if you are playing your bass on the moon for example your bass will weigh considerably less than if you are gigging at WSL in Sheffield, whereas the mass will remain constant. i hear that Virgin are shortly opening up flights to the moon which may be good news for those of us who long for the deep rich tones of a heavy woods, but struggle with the weight of such a substantial axe.....
  19. Playing in a funk band this is right up my street, my favourite funk is by Phat Fred, we cover this one, took us a year to get the feel just right......
  20. This would obviously be dependant on the swallow, be It African or European....
  21. Or if you can build a bridge from your bass........
  22. It was a load of bollocks that I just made up, sounded good though 😁
  23. That’s not going to work, that’s just going to give you the volume, not the weight, you would also need density and mass to make the appropriate calculations, and whilst volume by itself would be an interesting area of bass research, it’s not going to help those wishing to lighten the load. You would get better results by incinerating the bass and collecting the resulting gasses in an atomising spectrometer, which would provide accurate measurements of all the bass elements which went into the manufacture. This would then provide the most accurate weight measurement of the guitar. However it may prove difficult to sell afterwards.......
