  1. Retford in Notts, although I do get to Nottingham and Leicester quite often with work.
  2. Sorry this has no metal work, photo of the nut is below.
  3. I do have a rather rubbish gig bag I can post this in, hiwever I have just taken delivery of a new rather splendid 75 inch TV so have copious amounts of very thick cardboard to ship this in to keep it nice and safe.
  4. I’ve had a few queries regarding shipping, I will ship at buyers expense rather than meet up if you would prefer. im sure I will have a case somewhere for it.
  5. I’ve had a couple of queries regarding her weight, according to my luggage scales she come in at a rather shoulder friendly 8.3.
  6. I’ve had a few questions regarding trades, Jazz basses will be considered.
  7. I shall post photos of neck stamp, pick up and pot codes when I get chance to strip her down.
  8. 1973 Fender Peecison, sunburst with a rosewood board, very good condition. A change of musical direction has got me thinning the herd to purchase a quality alto sax! The tug bar is not original, the rest is, pots neck and pick ups all date to late 1973. Finish on neck and body is all original with only a few dinks here and there. I shield all my basses so she has copper in all her cavities and runs quiet as a mouse, I can easily remove this if someone wants her to be completely original. £2000 is a good price, would rather buyer collect or meet up somewhere but post at buyers expense.
  9. Sometimes the gigs with few people can be the best, I’d rather have a half dozen people who are enjoying the music and engage with you than 30 people ignoring us. our audience is quite niche, we don’t play rock classics but funk classics, sometimes we go down great, sometimes people just want to hear some status quo...
  10. I have a Geddy Lee USA Jazz bass but I can honestly say it was nothing to do with Rush as it was a band that I completely passed me by while growing up, I just really liked the feel and quality of the bass. once I had the bass I listened to a few tracks to see what all the fuss was about, but left me a little cold, great bass, band seem a bit of a nothing to me.
  11. A little more interesting info, http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Dont-believe-its-a-lawsuit-guitar-/10000000003975324/g.html
  12. I’ve never made it to your shop but hope to when I’m down in London next, welcome to the site.
  13. This may be a rather more subjective topic than anticipated, the below article mentions a number of lawsuits taken out against different companies for different copyright issues at the time and does not limit lawsuit guitars to Ibanez only. Sorry Tradfusion for going on, If it didn’t have the additional routing I may well of had this, I promise not to mention “lawsuit” again. http://www.jazzguitar.be/lawsuit_guitars.html
  14. I’m not entirely convinced about this, it was a Gibson / Ibáñez lawsuit which I believe was something to do with the Les Paul headstock shape, however I wasn’t aware that a lawsuit “era” guitar had to be Ibáñez, or indeed a Les Paul copy, the legal challenge stopped numerous Japanese companies making identical (and much better) copies of Fenders and Gibson’s. I feel a little googling may be required to get a definitive answer on this 😄
  15. I have one of these as my cheap festival bass which I don’t mind getting knocked around, great bass for the money, mine is a little on the heavy side but hay, it costs £150 and is still lighter than most late 70s Fenders...
  16. Overwater by tanglewood second hand for £120, not the lightest but build quality and sound is spot on.
  17. The problem is that what sounds good at home playing by yourself sounds pretty crappy in the mix, so for me I will do the scoop thing at home, but in a band situation it’s pretty flat, and any minor tweaks will be on the bass itself
  18. I do like this, whats this present business all about, does that bit on the back need to be connected to something??
  19. I think the sound has mellowed a touch, there are quite a lot of mids to start off with, but rather quickly develop that lovely mellow flat sound we all love so much.
