3.
I played a couple of gigs in Scotland on Friday and Saturday. I'm now using a Markbass LMK head with my Ashdown 4 x 8" and 1 x 15" cabs. Simple setup - Roscoe SKB5 through Boss TU2 into amp. Premium cables. Batteries fine in bass. I was getting a high-pitched noise through the rig. I tried going straight into the amp and bypassing the tuner, but it was still there. It's not present when there's nothing plugged in, and it goes when the bass is turned down. The ground lift switch made no difference. I'm going to take the amp and bass into our shop and try them through different cabs. Any suggestions in the meantime?
Hi Pete, I've had a thought - the amp is probably 'complaining' because you are playing too many notes & Fagen 'Mu major' patterns through it ! I never had a problem playing 'dum - de - dum - de - dum' through it, apart from it falling asleep through boredom ! Only joking me owd fruit - hope you've got it sorted, as I'm just about to trade your 12 month guarantee for an F1 All the best, dodger x x
 4.
Still up for grabs bump
Somebody buy these - quick! I had the same cabs - the only difference being they had Ashdown badges on them etc & they were excellent! £250 for the pair? - I got £250 just for the 4 x 8 & £225 for the 1 x 15 - so 'do the math' - as they say!! + personally, I prefer the look of these babies! Bumbity - bump for a great pair of cabs at a bargain price - come on guys, if they were a bit closer - I'd have been there LAST week!! My Aggies are great, but I'm sure they are not 'twice' as good - costing 'twice' the price! Good luck with the sale - at this price you shouldn't need it !
 5. PM'd - 1st dibs please!
The dude and indeed the Zoot, abides
6. Hi Matt, Have a free Monday bumpity bumpity for a beautiful bass! Plus just to let you know there is 1964 Precision/Jazz Bridge on that t'ebay at the moment - £220! sounds expensive to me, but what do I know? - but may help to make it more acceptable to the 'purist' brigade?? Good luck with sale - my numbers didn't come up this week, so it's back to feeling down the back of the furniture again! It's a gorgeous bass & if I find a bit more spare dosh, in the words of Arnie - 'I'll be back'! All the best, Tim. ps - 'green with envy'!!
Unfortunately the sale of this bass fell through. So, here it is again folks. It truly is a stunning bass and does need a new home, so please don't let it is there for another 22 years. Hopefully speak to you soon and take care. Cheers, Matt
11. Thanks for the 'bump' Bob, did I mention 'in passing' the war - oops sorry! I meant to say that this bass has the lowest, playable action I've ever seen on 'any' bass - Headed, headless, graphite or wooden?? sorry for mentioning - I mean 'starting' a war - 'I thought I got away with it' Let's face it - no 'one' type, or 'make' of bass is 'superior' over ALL others - (I think that's how 'the war' started)! - bugger - mentioned it again - sorry! At the end of the (very long) day it's all down to personal choice & preference - we'd all be in real trouble if there was only 'one' make or type of 'best bass' in the world - there wouldn't be enough to go around for all us greedy 'fat-wires' - (That was 'fat- wire' - NOT - 'fat - wa' - bugger - that was close)! thanks to everyone for their interest, hoping to hang on to this 'work of art' forever - if not a bit longer my main reason for liking (not 'prefering' - phew close again)! - headless basses is they 'seem' to stay in tune forever, which is a godsend to a 'cloth-eared old bint' like me! Hari Krishna, cheers, Tim
Tuesday bump for a cracking bass BB
12. weekend bumpity - bump! may be able to post out in padded plywood box?? - would charge actual DHL cost only??
Trace Elliot back on sale!!
13. Not played one of the 'new ones' - but just prefer a 'through the body neck' to actually 'go through' the body. To my 'very' old eyes, in the pictures of the 'new ones' - it seems as though it doesn't 'go all the way through' - if I'm wrong -please excuse my ignorance!
+1000
14. Trace Elliot back on sale!!
hi Bod, thanks for your interest, it's a cab & it's still available - good luck, cheers, Tim
15. The serial number is 487 & according to Dawn at Status Graphite, was made in either December 1989, or January 1990? thankyou for your interest & the 'bump' much appreciated - ta. cheers, Tim
Fantastic! Whats the serial number? I had one with a red pinstripe laminate which was I think #483. Bump!
16. Hi, I don't know what it's worth (help)? - I know it owes me an amount similar to the national debt of a small country - but what the heck & I 'really' hope someone doesn't offer enough to make me have to part with 'my best friend'! - but 'needs must' - bugger! thankyou to everyone for your interest ps - 'bugger'!!
how much you lookin' for?
17. Pics added - I'm afraid my poor photography doesn't do it justice
 18. Circa 1989 Status S2 with really low, playable action & lots of mojo! Ungigged since returning from having oodles of TLC applied by Rob himself at Status Graphite + frets dressed & a legendary 'Rob' set up (the best I've ever seen)! Albeit at a cost akin to the National Debt of a small country, but worth every penny - the Guys at Status really know what they are doing & I can recommend their service & skill without hesitation. Original 'properly' through the body graphite neck that is straight & true. Birds eye maple facings to the wings & walnut? on the back. Comes complete with the original Status Flightcase, which due to it's age - could do with the foam being replaced at some point. In unbelievable condition for a bass of this age & plays like the preverbial dream, having a superfast neck & fingerboard. If you put "Status Bass Guitar" in youtube - you can see it being demonstrated by the Guy, who the Guy I bought from, bought it from (what)?? & after a holiday at 'Rob's Place' - the few tiny 'dings' mentioned in the video - have been polished out by Status & you'd never know they were ever there! Won't be heatbroken if I have to keep this beauty, - I 'may' be interested in a trade, such as a smaller bodied(?) due to my 'glass' back! Kingbass - with black hardware, or a really nice old Jazz/Precision, or Sadowsky etc - W.H.Y??
 19. PM'd back ta
You have a PM. Thanks, Nathan
