1. Monday Bump !
Hi Guys, Here is my David Eden WTX260 - Made in the USA - which cost £750 when new !! Rarer than a rare thing from the Planet Rare & in excellent 'ungigged' condition in original box & unused Rack Ears. More features than you'll ever need & loads of USA bottom end - even more than most valve amps I've owned. 300w into 4 ohms in the UK & featuring Eden's renowned 'Gloden Ear' chip - which according to the blurb costs a lot more than chips fitted by other manufacturers & is the same chip as those fitted to High End recording consoles! Mute Swith, -12 decibal pad for active basses, Gain, Compressor bypass, Enhance, Bass, Mid, Treble & Master Volume etc, etc. + see photo of the rear panel -offering some incredible features. Weighing only 3.8lbs & fitting into a gig bag = gigging heaven + the voltage automatically adjusts to suit whichever counrty you are in - so no need for a Transformer! Looking for a trade involving an F1, or LMK - or sell for £375 including next day delivery, or £350 collected. PM, or text or ring me if you fancy a try out - 07734 319983 Please see David Eden 260-WTX Bass Head Walkthru on youtube for a demo - sorry I don't know how to do a link ??????????????? - 'card carrying' Technophobe !!!
2. Thanks, I suspected that replacing the p/u's would be the answer - but didn't want to do that & then have to replace the circuitry also! Very much appreciated - thanks again! All the best, Tim
Replacing the pots and wiring will have little impact on the sound. You may find a slight improvement by installing a different capacitor - it will set a different roll of point for the tone control. But in the main replacing the pups will probably sort you out best. Your choice of strings may be a factor too. If you find it too bright currently, try some flats (Status Hotwires are my favourite flats, good strong sound and not as expensive as all the other flats people recommend).
3. Hi Guys, I have a really nice 1999 - made in Indonesia - Squier PJ Special Precision Bass - which plays like a dream & apart from it being a tad heavy for an old git like me - I'm very happy with it. However, the sound is a bit naff & when I turn the tone control up it sounds like Sparky's Magic Piano!! Does anyone have any ideas how to make it sound as good as it plays? Is it just a case of replacing the pick-ups? or do I need to replace the pots & wiring etc?? All donations of wisdom gratefully received - ta ?? All the best, Tim

 8. PM'd
Hi guys, moving house = clearout time. First in a series of as many as I get around to doing is this cab. Bought from a fellow BCer a little while back (the pics are his but condition hasn't changed) and unused since then as it coincided with my lunatic decision to spend my new car fund on a Markbass rig. I only ever tried it out the once and I remember there possibly being a slight rattle or crackle when I had my lows up and loud. With my belongings in boxes I simply can't get round to plugging it in and testing it for myself so instead I'm offering it for a 'save me bothering with it' price of £50. I would prefer pickup (Leeds, weekday evenings / weekends / ASAP basically), simply so you can bring round your head/combo and plug it in and hear it for yourself, but let's be honest, at that price you could stick a new cone in it and it'd still be a bargain. Or buy it as a nice sounding practice cab for home, or an extension for gigging that you don't mind other bands thrashing. For fifty quid, you could use it as a hipster coffee table if you like. It's very light, 42lbs I think (errr .... lighter than my Markbass) but has a normal speaker in so it's the construction itself that makes it so light (i.e. if you wanted it just for the frame you'll still have a lightweight cab afterwards). It's in very good condition with some scratching to corner pieces, that's about it. Any questions get in touch - I've not been on here much in recent times but I have good feedback and have met numerous BCers in person for Bass Bashes and trading gear. Ta for the interest, cheers, Tim
24. Hi, I've just measured it & to my very old eyes - 'in old money' - it looks like 17.5" High x 14" Wide x 17" Deep - approximately!
Fantastic bit of kit. I am a total convert to PJB stuff and am very relieved that an impedance mismatch prevents me from buying this to run with my 6B! As a matter of interest, what are the actual dimensions of this? I've read lots of varying figures and have always wondered which is correct! Cheers Gareth
25. Thanks for the kind comments - I thought I was literally playing through a Hi-Fi the first time I tried it & loud as heck!
love these amps, had a loan of one for a couple of gigs while my amp was out of action and was very impressed, kicked out an incredible amount of volume for its size + was tonally very pleasing also, pretty gutted I wont have dosh for another couple of weeks or would have taken it
