dodgnofski replied to dodgnofski's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Thanks, Unbelievable amount of 'headroom' from such a small amp & tonally suberb!! Pic added.................hopefully better ones soon!
I cant be bothered unpacking the gig rig from my last practice so I'm playing my LMK right now. Its been 6 months since I used it last and forgot what a great little amp it is! Great tone and LOADS of volume. To practice at home I have to have both low and mid low set all the way down or it and the Big One start annoying the neighbours very quickly! Cracking amps!
-

Not just the best amp in the Markbass range.....IMHO, - but these have to be one of the best & most versatile Bass amps in the world today. £475 including free next day fully insured delivery.................or collect it for £450 - I'm 'still' 5 minutes from Junction 15 of the M6 - someone has to be !!

Thanks for that, I know a little bit, i.e. to check the neck stamp, pot dates & check for original soldering etc...........but please, any other tips gratefully recieved?? Thanks again, Tim
I assume you know a bit about what you are buying? Original parts are key and if you can get the full history it's a huge bonus. I own 70s Fenders which are all original with original strings / case / till receipt and 70s Fenders which have loads of parts replaced. All are well set up and play great but obviously a huge difference in resale value
Now with free postage - trust me - it's free postage !! They seem to be renaming their ranges on a regular basis. So my info was way out of date! David Eden it is!
-

Monday Bump !
Hi Guys, Here is my David Eden WTX260 - Made in the USA - which cost £750 when new !! Rarer than a rare thing from the Planet Rare & in excellent 'ungigged' condition in original box & unused Rack Ears. More features than you'll ever need & loads of USA bottom end - even more than most valve amps I've owned. 300w into 4 ohms in the UK & featuring Eden's renowned 'Gloden Ear' chip - which according to the blurb costs a lot more than chips fitted by other manufacturers & is the same chip as those fitted to High End recording consoles! Mute Swith, -12 decibal pad for active basses, Gain, Compressor bypass, Enhance, Bass, Mid, Treble & Master Volume etc, etc. + see photo of the rear panel -offering some incredible features. Weighing only 3.8lbs & fitting into a gig bag = gigging heaven + the voltage automatically adjusts to suit whichever counrty you are in - so no need for a Transformer! Looking for a trade involving an F1, or LMK - or sell for £375 including next day delivery, or £350 collected. PM, or text or ring me if you fancy a try out - 07734 319983 Please see David Eden 260-WTX Bass Head Walkthru on youtube for a demo - sorry I don't know how to do a link ??????????????? - 'card carrying' Technophobe !!!
-
Fender Squier PJ p/u's & Tone Controls - HELP!!
dodgnofski replied to dodgnofski's topic in Repairs and Technical
Thanks, I suspected that replacing the p/u's would be the answer - but didn't want to do that & then have to replace the circuitry also! Very much appreciated - thanks again! All the best, Tim
Replacing the pots and wiring will have little impact on the sound. You may find a slight improvement by installing a different capacitor - it will set a different roll of point for the tone control. But in the main replacing the pups will probably sort you out best. Your choice of strings may be a factor too. If you find it too bright currently, try some flats (Status Hotwires are my favourite flats, good strong sound and not as expensive as all the other flats people recommend).
-
Hi Guys, I have a really nice 1999 - made in Indonesia - Squier PJ Special Precision Bass - which plays like a dream & apart from it being a tad heavy for an old git like me - I'm very happy with it. However, the sound is a bit naff & when I turn the tone control up it sounds like Sparky's Magic Piano!! Does anyone have any ideas how to make it sound as good as it plays? Is it just a case of replacing the pick-ups? or do I need to replace the pots & wiring etc?? All donations of wisdom gratefully received - ta ?? All the best, Tim
