    Hi Guys, As it would seem my next Gig will be sometime around the twelfth of never ........here is my Markbass LMK Twin Channel 500w Bass Amp. Not just the best amp in the Markbass range.....IMHO, - but these have to be one of the best & most versatile Bass amps in the world today. £475 including free next day fully insured delivery.................or collect it for £450 - I'm 'still' 5 minutes from Junction 15 of the M6 - someone has to be !!

    Thanks for that, I know a little bit, i.e. to check the neck stamp, pot dates & check for original soldering etc...........but please, any other tips gratefully recieved??     Thanks, I suspected that replacing the p/u's would be the answer - but didn't want to do that & then have to replace the circuitry also! Very much appreciated - thanks again! You may find a slight improvement by installing a different capacitor - it will set a different roll of point for the tone control. But in the main replacing the pups will probably sort you out best. Your choice of strings may be a factor too. If you find it too bright currently, try some flats (Status Hotwires are my favourite flats, good strong sound and not as expensive as all the other flats people recommend).[/quote]

    Hi Guys, I have a really nice 1999 - made in Indonesia - Squier PJ Special Precision Bass - which plays like a dream & apart from it being a tad heavy for an old git like me - I'm very happy with it. However, the sound is a bit naff & when I turn the tone control up it sounds like Sparky's Magic Piano!! Does anyone have any ideas how to make it sound as good as it plays? Is it just a case of replacing the pick-ups? or do I need to replace the pots & wiring etc?? All donations of wisdom gratefully received - ta ?? All the best, Tim
