1. I got a Hartke A35 for similar purposes – it's a great little amp.
2. Just sold a set of machine heads to Legion. Was superb to deal with and sent payment quickly. I can't complain! Cheers

Feedback for ~tl

Well, thought I should have one of these threads. So was it good for you as well?
4. I wouldn't bother personally. Just make sure the back of the pots are earthed and the plate should get a connection through the pot shafts. That's how mine is done...
5. I have a pair of these: http://www.thomann.de/gb/esi_near05_experi...eldmonitore.htm Can't complain... they sound fine for the money.
6. http://www.allparts.uk.com/inch-input-jack....html?p=product You need a stereo one for the input (to allow disconnection of the battery when you unplug your guitar lead). The output jack can be a mono one, however I just tend to use a stereo one for both.
7. I don't think you'll find many that have absolutely no kind of pickup/pre-amp system. Good luck anyway...
8. How hard is it to get to the venue from the centre of Newcastle?
9. The 4005 was introduced in 1965, so one from 1967 seems reasonable.
10. The standard series are made in Mexico.
11. I'd certainly consider a jaunt down if the date is right. Afternoon is certainly better for me since the last train back up is around 9.30 IIRC.
12. The other option would be to use a small mixer in front of the amp. That would allow you to independently set the levels of your instrument and MP3 player.
13. There are already a couple of threads about this: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38193 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=35958

Power Supply Cables

Might be worth giving OBBM a shout, I'm sure he'd make you up something: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showuser=12 ...or... http://www.bassic.co.uk/
15. As far as I know, they'll fit. However, the Japanese Fenders seems to use slightly odd machine head sizes, so I'd check the dimensions against the ones given on the Schaller web site: http://bass-machine-heads.com:80/upload/CY..._BMFLSeries.pdf They're smooth as silk
16. One set of (4) Schaller BMFL nickel machine heads. Should be a replacement for any CBS era Fender bass. Bought as part of my "upgrade my Precision" project, but decided to go for the more authentic reverse wind ones in the end. Unused (though they have been out of the box, so may have a few finger prints on them) and come with mounting screws and ferrules. http://bass-machine-heads.com:80/hp135295/BMFL-Series.htm £70 on Allparts. Yours for £50+postage. Some more photos of the tuners:
17. I would recommend getting all the saddles filed anyway – it improves the tone more still.
18. Hipshot do one: http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?...ct_list&c=4
19. This is quite a cool trainer applet: http://www.musictheory.net/trainers/html/id81_en.html It's for guitar, but knowing the extra strings isn't going to hurt
20. Well, my 5-string is a lot more versatile than my 4-string and has a much wider range of sounds (which I guess could count as "sounding better"). But I'd be willing to bet that was due to the fact that it has double the number of pickups and an ACG pre-amp, rather than due to the number of strings...
21. Probably need to adjust the intonation at the bridge as well...
22.
What's "circuit bending"? Do people use these things for some strange activity? Cheers Mark
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circuit_bending
23. I'd go for tort personally. Looks great on natural instruments (or any instruments to be honest).
24. I use Elites Players (the nickel ones) on my basses. 45-105 or 45-130 depending on the number of strings. I've never used the Stadiums, because I prefer the feel and sound of nickel strings, but the Players are excellent.
25. I have a friend who uses one of the PorchBoard models live. I can't see why you couldn't plug it into the aux socket on your Shuttle. However, it doesn't have a level control, so balancing the sound might be a little tricky. Might be best to use some sort of EQ pedal to give you a volume control and allow you to tweak the sound a little. Probably best to go for a model designed for the bass rather than a guitar one, such as: http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/GEB-7/
