  1. Thank you. No one was more surprised!
  2. I know he's not operating directly on here but is there a case for starting a feedback thread?
  3. The new Duty free allowances from 1/1/21 - you note VAT is being charged. Alcohol allowance How much you can bring depends on the type of drink. You can bring in both: beer - 42 litres wine (not sparkling) - 18 litres You can also bring in either: spirits and other liquors over 22% alcohol - 4 litres fortified wine (for example port, sherry), sparkling wine and alcoholic drinks up to 22% alcohol - 9 litres You can split this last allowance, for example you could bring 4.5 litres of fortified wine and 2 litres of spirits (both half of your allowance). You will have to pay excise duty and VAT on alcohol you declare. You may also have to pay customs duty. Tobacco allowance You can bring in one from the following: 200 cigarettes 100 cigarillos 50 cigars 250g tobacco 200 sticks of tobacco for heating You can split this allowance - for example you could bring in 100 cigarettes and 25 cigars (both half of your allowance). You will have to pay excise duty, VAT and customs duty on tobacco you declare. Alcohol and tobacco allowances if you’re under 17 There are no allowances for tobacco or alcohol if you’re under 17. You can bring alcohol and tobacco to the UK for your own use but you’ll have to pay duty or tax on them using an online service for passengers from 1 January 2021. Allowance for other goods You can bring in other goods worth up to £390 (or up to £270 if you arrive by private plane or boat). If a single item’s worth more than your allowance you pay duty or tax on its full value, not just the value above the allowance. If you go over your allowance then you will pay customs duty on the total value of your goods. The rate: is 2.5% for goods worth up to £630 depends on the type of goods if they’re worth more than £630 From 1 January 2021, you will be able to check your allowances, make a declaration and pay any tax using an online service for passengers. You will also have to pay VAT at the standard UK rates.
  4. It was only intended as a friendly reminder, Sellers will be aware that their cost to their buyer will be around 25% more than they receive.
  5. As you wish. You're entirely wrong but no matter. Goods will be subject to VAT and Duty going out or coming in. There's absolutely no doubt. I'm sure people will know. I was just thinking that a gentle reminder would avoid any nasty surprises for buyers and sellers on the forum.
  6. Bought a Sterling Sub bass from Chris. Arrived very well packaged and with a gig bag that wasn't mentioned (I thought it was without any kind of cover) so a very welcome surprise. Thanks for an easy transaction and an excellent i8nstrument. Deal with absolute confidence.
  7. Hi Mods I wonder if there is any thought to add a note to the For Sale forums, reminding people that any sale from outside the UK will be subject to VAT and Duty when it arrives in the UK. The value is the goods + delivery costs and so people could easily (likely) end up paying 25% more than the advertised price that they see on the forum.
  8. Two from me Always a sucker for a good choral performance. And ..... Love their tongue-in-cheek-ness. The Darkness Rig Rundown is terrific for the same reason. By the way. Do we know why Michael Buble was apparently breaking wind over that present?
  9. Unless you need the dosh, keep it. Who knows how things will turn out and it'll cost a darn sight more to replace it.
  10. PLEASE stop bumping this. It's not fair. 🙂
  11. Good for you. A wonderful gesture on your part.
  12. Sold a Mesa Clearlink to Mike. Immediate payment and he collected it (safely). Always very pleasant to see Mike and chat. Can't recommend highly enough.
  13. That will be awesome. I ran my two Diesel 2x15s with a pair of Orange 120's for a short time in the early 90's.
  14. Superb piece of kit. Love mine. GLWTS.
  15. That is a beautiful bass. GLWTS.
  16. I know what you mean. It's a brilliantly thought out and engineered piece of kit. The switches themselves are great. No click on, click off. Just press down.
  17. Oops too late. was going to add this. https://www.thomann.de/gb/palmer_pocket_amp_bass.htm
  18. I used this unit between my switcher and the amp rack. Here's what Boogie say about it:- https://www.mesaboogie.com/tone-tools/buffers-line-drivers-line-balancing/clearlink-output-buffer-balanced-line-driver.html It has to be said, I had no idea it would even be useful until I bought it and it really did 'clean up' the clarity of the sound along the combined length of the guitar to switcher and switcher to amp cable run. You will see it can also be used as a DI (though I never did). It has velcro on the bottom, where it was on my board. Price is shipped to the UK (in its original box).
  19. This is a great bit of kit. I used it to switch between active and passive basses. It is the 3at1 SGOS - https://lehle.com/EN/Lehle-3at1-SGoS There are three inputs (two of which have level controls) and two outputs. One press on the pedal sends to output 1 and another press sends to output 2. The lights indicate which output is being used. I used output 1 to the amps and output 2 to the tuner. Build quality is superb and the footswitches themselves are brilliant in operation, no clicks etc, just completely silent. Selling because this fed the amps via a buffer unit and I have bought a switcher that has that function built in so this is surplus. Price includes postage to the UK.
  20. Frankly, I see no need for you to apologise and I am somewhat amused by someone taking you to task for airing dirty laundry and then doing the self same thing in the very next sentence. You may regret what you said but it is none the less accurate for that. Alex behaved like a d1ck and admitted as much. The difference here is that he is (or should be) promoting a brand and customer service is an important factor. He got exactly the reaction he deserved. Anyway. Welcome back to the Boogie club, when you're back in!
  21. ... and untold riches, of course.
  22. Do check out the Subways. My 2 15" cabs are every bit the equal of the Diesel 2x15 they replaced. GLWTS
  23. I think I could almost be tempted by a single cut 6 string if it was CAR with matching headstock. Just a superb colour combination. If my Jazz bass itch hadn't been scratched that would be on its way to Pompey. GLWTS. A wonderful price for such a quality instrument.
  24. And singers? Be careful how you answer that!! 🙂
