  1. You have misunderstood our posts. It is good that you have responded to the suggestions positively - albeit reluctantly and sarcastically. They are normal requirements when trying to sell something of this vintage or value. You now have a chance of selling your wonderful looking bass. Good luck.
  2. Accounts show 36 sites with 736 studios generating 13m turnover with cost of sales 9m. Administration costs are 14m so a loss of 10m.
  3. Pino used Rotosound Swing Bass strings to record with Paul Young. His Stingray is, apparently, on its 3rd fingerboard as a result.
  4. I'm bound to have recounted this before. In the early 90's Spinal Tap were promoting their album Break Like The Wind. As part of the promotion, they came into the studio where I was recording at the time. From the moment of their arrival to their departure, 3 hours later, they remained in character and were simply hilarious.
  5. That is a thing of beauty and a good weight. My own '71 has far less mojo than your bass.
  6. That's going to be a lovely bass. Brilliant instrument and these are incredible value for money. Along with the likes of Tokai and Greco, they are every bit as good as a Fender Japan instrument. GLWTS.
  7. Everyone here is trying to help you sell your bass. No-one is questioning your knowledge. We are trying to help you attract serious buyers. The other bass you refer to has remained unsold for 20 months. Anyway, I think we've done our best to help you. I hope you raise the funds you need for your house. GLWTS (sincerely).
  8. He seems (from his edit) to be irritated by the criticism (that is intended to help him). Given the lack of the anti-scam evidence, and his reluctance to provide simple information, it may be that he does't actually even own this bass. Just saying.
  9. While your experience was frustrating, maybe your language was unnecessary? Most places have signs stating that abuse of staff won't be tolerated.
  10. ... or knowledge, or access to it.
  11. That seems like the best decision. A lot of questions about the authenticity of the instrument.
  12. My L series is in the same place as above.
  13. It just seems like good manners to acknowledge assistance that is offered. Guess I'm just old fashioned.
  14. Cannon. I mean, that bloke in the 1812. What was he thinking?
  15. Hmm. Hasn't visited since Wednesday and hasn't responded to any posts. May be all sorted. Would be good to know if we can stand down.
  16. I also have an SQ and it's a phenomenal bass. Previous owner 'JV'd' it, with reverse tuners and a older style bbot.
  17. You need to change your username to Bass Gibbon!!
  18. I'd put forward the same two candidates.
  19. Indeed. Many moons ago, I helped out a youth orchestra based in West Sussex. The man behind it was the head of music in the County. He was a cellist and could read anything put in front of him, faultlessly. One day I was noodling on an upright bass and asked what I was playing. I just said I was just improvising something and he was completely stunned that I could do that. A weird situation in which each of us was in awe of the other.
  20. Or 'good at metal'.
  21. I wouldn't really know the answer to the last two (as a number). For the music I play, the answer would seem to be 10 for each but I doubt the guys in the Mavanishu Orchestra would agree!
  22. Controls are volume, tone and blend. It has a piezo under the bridge and is active, for those that aren't aware.
  23. Absolutely love my fretless version. If I had the spare cash, I'd certainly have this. GLWTS.
