  1. I remember her voice being described as having warm chocolate poured over you. Wonderful description.
  2. One very important thing to remember is always turn the mixer on first and off last. Every time you use the system.
  3. The larger plates denote a model that has US hardware and a US spec pickup. It is alder where the other models are basswood. Enjoy whichever you choose.
  4. I would check out the PB70 first. Look on the back of the neck and see whther it has smaller tuner plates or larger. If they're larger (bigger than the Hybrid), I'd go with that, it's the PBUS model and has an alder body. I've not owned a Hybrid but I know the neck of the PB70 very well. It's my favourite and falls between a 'standard' Precision and a Jazz. However, if you can try both, buy the one that feels best. You can't go wrong with Fender Japaan.
  5. A warm welcome from the mainland (Waterlooville)!!
  6. Surely the dealer buys blnd?
  7. The famous (and compulsory for me) B profile neck.
  8. I'm going to stick with having my SUB, sporting a Nordstrand pickup and Stinger preamp, converted to fretless with a new fingerboard.
  9. I'm sorry but you are going to have to provide more information before anyone makes contact. You want serious buyers, you should show yourself to be a serious seller. It's a lovely bass, for sure, but I woud doubt anyone will be interested without the other informatuon that has been suggested. The effort will be worth it, I'm sure. Apologies if that sounds harsh.
  10. Or follow the threads maybe? 🙂
  11. For me, this. The Japanese Fenders are consistently well manufactured instruments. As for the more expensive variants, I haven't really tried many, as I've not been in the market for one. I would expect my SVLs are easily on a par with the Custom Shop. I really only got those because Simon (Law, the man who makes them) asked me if he could make me a bass. They replaced the two Japanese PB70US basses I was using at the time. Should have kept them. Would particularly like my ash bodied one back.
  12. One appears to simply says tits.
  13. There's something very Amy Winehouse about her. Enjoying her set. Great cello playing.
  14. A 15 year old Merc C350. The Saga quote would seem to be for an Aston though. About twice the next highest quote.
  15. I use the Behringer own app. Others use Mixing Station because it can be used with many different mixers from different manufacturers. Mixing Station is about a fiver (so nearly free).
  16. Do it. Just do it. I ummed and ahhed about going digital for ages and finally took the plunge. Why didn't I do it before? Do be prepared for a bit of a learning curve, and the on-screen layout is different for Windows, IoS and Android (for some reason) but it has been a game changer for our gigging experience. Everything has inproved significantly. The sound of the band has improved and we are delighted. We pretty much threw up some microphones to record a gig (USB into the computer running the recording software) and the sound quality was astonishing. Some good tutorials on YouTube, and plenty of great advice here too. You won't look back.
  17. I put retired on my quote details. Same on both.
  18. That's a surprise. Their quote for me was 4 times the quote I accepted. 1200 quid instead of 300.
  19. Still, you could always take a chance (someone had to start the ABBA puns).
  20. Don't mention the tinnitus!!
  21. Just use it as is. I can undertand the ABBA folk doing their best to look right but I would question the need for anyone else. Rutger may have wished his Jazz was the colour of yours (not far removed from his Hagstrom, by the way). His was also a dot neck. Are you changing that? If not, you're not authentic. Personally, play it as it is and save yourself the money (and the time without it). I played in a very good ABBA tribue with a 75 black Jazz with pearl blocks on the maple neck. Up to you, of course, but why bother?
  22. I have a constant sound and (when it's quiet) a sort of dawn chorus going on in my head.
  23. Thank you. The email we have is enough to form a contract for services. Apparently, she is entirely brazen about it and there is no discussion about any kind of (agreed) reduction she would agree to pay.
  24. A band I play in played at this small venue in Southsea last Fridy night. Blazing hot load in and subsequent load out. Very few people about and so a very low turnout. Long stort short (as you will have guessed, I bet), the lady is refusing to pay the band any money at all (a fee was agreed in writing). She was pleasant on the night and watched as we played all evening, presumably having decided she wasn't going to pay us anything. I will be going to the Small Claims Court, but any locals who may get a gig there, I would be inclined to not play there.
  25. (Breathes a huge sigh of relief).
