1. Aye, actually I realised I could click on his name after I'd posted! Doh
2. Where are you based matey?
3. I'm a jazz bass into an ms60b as my preamp. I've got an amp but it's just used when I really need to. I'm currently using the svt amp sim as my main sound and eq in the ms60b . Dead easy!
4.
If are just going to be using the MS-60B for one only thing per live set (it's also a really good tuner pedal btw) then I agree it is a good option. But if you know that you are going to use for just one thing (e.g. synth) and not anything else then not sure whether it makes sense to have a multi-fx? I would have thought a dedicated filter or octave/filter (e.g. COG T16) pedal would be better?
I'd agree with this. It's more a utility pedal for me. I don't think I'd buy another one just for one effect. Saying that, I've used it many a time just as atuner.
5. I've owned both, and as a 'multi' FX I'd go for the b3. On the ms60b, you can set up patches and you can switch between them but it's not the most flexible of process. However, I use the ms60b every gig I play. As I basically have but setup as Octaver > noise reduction > compressor > preamp. I have it sitting on the octaver so it's switchable on and off, and the others are always on. Plus it's my tuner. For me, it works brilliantly but I can see the limitations won't suit everyone.
6. Not tried the power bass but my #1 is a bass collection jazz, and it's a beauty. Apart from the hideous logo on the headstock of course! If I was going for a p bass I'd certainly be looking at bass collection again.
7. got mine the other day, absolutely brilliant strings!
8.
Says £8 now! no fair!
You need to put the voucher code in and it'll change to 2 quid
9. Purchased! Cheers for the heads up
10. I had one for a while. I loved it, but mines died. Cheap fix but it still died. It was also clinically clean so not for everyone. Extremely loud
11. If you can afford to keep it, I would. I have a funny feeling these might be worth a decent wedge in a few years. Mines never sees light of day anymore and normally I sell gear as soon as it's redundant, but I'm keeping this with my fingers 🤞
12. Cheap purchase from eBay, local so i took a punt. Sounds really quite good and plays decently. I think the nut could be doing with a trim down. It's unlined so I don't see me gigging this anytime soon but it's definitely an interesting one to add to the collection! God I really need to decorate!!
13. In my experience some people are just a bit mad and get into things a bit too much. As long as a sensible distance is kept then I'm not sure what the problem is.
14.
I've used the Z-syn too. Seems pretty useful. I actually find the others far too sensitive, being triggered by the slightest touch of the strings, but that could just be me or the bass, of course.
Nope I agree, the others are a pretty uncontrollable in my experience.
15. Zoom r16 maybe? Great wee unit... 8 inputs... Must be pretty cheap these days
16. I use Z-syn as my main synth pedal. ITs limited to what it can do, but it does it brilliantly in my experience. I generally keep the synth side quite low in the mix. i'd about a 80/20 mix just enough to hear the attack of the note (assuming your going for that staccato type synth). For Kids In Americafor the intro bit I'd play up an octave with the synth on and a chorus afterwards, I quite like the Clone chorus on it. Then when the proper bass kicks in id probably just go back to normal and switch the synth off.
17. is it just me or are he frets chocking a bit in that youtube demo?
18. I had the white version as my first decent bass... After a few years I added a trem, took the frets off, and sanded the body down to natural wood. What a monstrosity haha. Ive been looking for another one though for memories sake. Great bass!

Daft Question
and lots of engineers insist on placing their DI in front of your pedals. Resist this as you lose all your effects in the FOH this way.
I've never been xperienced that before! Very odd! 😂😂
20. Mate that is lovely. One day I will own a Dingwall
21. If it's anything like the vintage jazz I had, it'll be a very playable bass indeed. Just watch out for weight though, my hb was the heaviest bass I've ever owned! And a big neck.
22. I had one briefly. Did the job nicely. I only got rid as it was a bit Rawk for my taste, but that's not the pedals fault, that was my error for getting the wrong pedal.
23.
I have a Spector Legend 6 if you are interested?
I'd assume youre talking top limit.? What's the neck like?
24.
I have the ibanez that BaconCheese mentioned. Its my first 6er, its very comfortable and light, its a joy to play. Not a massively versatile pre amp, but it just so happens that the sound it does make is kind of the one i like. Would recommend.
It'll be likely what I go for in the end bit it's good to hear another opinion on it
25.
S/h Aria pro 11 six string. Cheap, reliable, sound good and easy to play with a 34" scale and 17mm at the bridge
Doesn't seem to be to many about but I'll certainly keep an eye out
