  1. I’m a bit of a Phil Jones fanboy, I have a Flightcase coupled with the PB300 powered cab, plenty loud, plenty of bottom end (I even cut it a bit). Very clean, some might say unforgiving, but takes FX really well if you want to emulate another type of amp. I’ve also owned a Bass Cub and Bass Buddy. I’ve been well pleased with all my PJB products. The Super Flightcase might be just the ticket if you want more power in one box.
  2. Return to Sender - Elvis
  3. Einstein A Go Go - Landscape
  4. Ice in the Sun - Quo
  5. Ooh, ooh. Colour me excited. Having relocated to Perthshire from Surrey last year means you’re dangerously close. Any rough details/drawings you might tease us with?
  6. I had friend who met him and invited Norman to a party, which he accepted. He said he was a lovely chap, he didn’t stay at the party long, but left a big bag of weed for them. I’ve seen him a number of times, the man could sweat for England if it was a competitive event. Total commitment to entertain and a monster player.
  7. Solid result.
  8. You and me both. Our own @Jabba_the_gut is the guy, but I don't whether he's taking on new commissions these days. What's the word, Jez?
  9. Wouldn’t that just leave them nodding off in the corner. That weird product sounds like it’s come from some wide eyed person shouting, “I’ve got a great idea!” Perhaps it was just one person and the rest were just zonked out, going, “Yeah… great idea… let’s do that… zzz.” Whatever happened, it wasn’t the product of sane minds. Probably, a product designed by focus group and committee, rather like most TV programs, “Some folk like Lynx Africa, some folk like Marmite. Therefore, folk will like the combo, makes sense, right? We’re gonna be rich!”
  10. Tubular Bells - Mike Oldfield

  12. Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
  13. I kind of get that, at least they’re both foodstuffs. It also harks back to peanut butter and Bovril that was a common DIY mix in my youth.
  14. Thanks for that. You’re a star!
  15. Old Shep - Elvis
  16. Stir it Up - Uncle Bob
  17. Given the Mustang’s somewhat narrow proportions, how well is it secured sideways? Any chance of a photo in situ?
  18. Baby, It’s Cold Outside - Various
  19. The tone control on the JMJ is marvellous, plenty of variation all through its travel, very like my old ‘63 P.
  20. Napalm Death would say yes.
  21. You Can Leave Your Hat On - Jones the Voice
  22. WTAF? THIS IS A THING? The World has officially gone mad. There’s plainly too much charlie in the Unilever development department.
  23. Just finished the set up with the D’Addarios (EXL160M, 50-105]. I did a bit yesterday that also included a truss rod tweak and wanted it to settle. Another tweak today, plus height and intonation adjustment (not much). Man, these strings are punchy! They push the pickup into breakup when you dig in (the amp level is staying the same) very similar to way Nordy Big Singles break up; love it. The bottom end is a fair bit tighter, which makes it seem more even across the strings and not quite so low mid heavy allowing for a tone that’s more pleasing to my ears, but should still sit in the mix nicely without becoming lost, it certainly has punch in abundance. Now I just need a band to use it with ☹️.
  24. That’s probably what it smells like.
  25. Ah, good thinking. I must remember to spread it on my legs the next time I go out walking, they’re a bloody nuisance (pun intended).
