When I play my 33” and 35” basses, I don’t suffer much from misalignment after extensive 30” shenanigans, even on the fretless ones. However, I’m about to find out what it feels like to go up to 42” (or thereabouts) from those various scales and I’m hoping that the totally different ergonomics will make it like a new instrument rather than just a different scale, which, with such a big jump, could definitely cause some issues. 😬 -

I’m 6’ and prefer short scales these days, so I don’t see it being a problem. Shorties like the Mustang and Fallout have elongated bodies so don’t feel as small if you want a compromise. -

My 2 Maruszczyk custom builds barely get played at all these days and my Rob Allen only a bit more. I’m also currently looking at an EUB and, if I acquire one of those and get on with it, the aforementioned 3 may well find themselves on the way out. If that occurs, it means I’ll be playing 30” or 42” scale. Plenty of crossover there, not! -

Likewise. My Mustang is enjoying a resurgence in my affections in the last couple of days. I note that shorties are getting a good bit of TV time nowadays, the JMJ Mustang especially (one of the sisters in First Aid Kit uses one and the bass player in Wet Leg used one up until recently too, for instance. Both very much current ‘flavours of the month’). -

This certainly seems to be the case and the first few bars in the OP definitely had me thinking, “I’ve heard this before,” so I certainly see Dad’s point. What goes around, comes around, especially in popular music. Back to ‘70s funk - yes please.

Still only supplying the standard gigbag? That’s a bit disappointing, but any bag is better than none at all. I do think they should have supplied the black p/g on both black and blue finishes.

I haven't used them for ages as, not long after building them, we moved house and they've stayed in an old pedal board case since. I remember the fuzz being very representative of the original Fuzz Face, giving that singing lead tone (on guitar) that Eric Johnson employs. It also cleans up really well from the guitar volume, giving a wide range of tones. The Throb does what it says on the tin pretty much. Very nice, old school tremolo and you can get a passable impression of Johnny Marr playing How Soon Is Now from it. I must break them out again sometime, but I rarely play electric guitar these days and they're not the kinds of effect that I use for bass.

I made a couple of pedals during the lockdowns. They were meant to last weeks, but I got carried away and finished them in a couple of days each, despite trying to go slow. The graphics aren’t a patch on @Bassybert’s, however.
