  1. Part ex. Yes, I’m an enabler .
  2. Lithium - Nirvana
  3. You wanted a British luxury, niche instrument (that's what an Aston is, with some Mercedes and Saudi interest) and you were given Status. Job done, case closed.
  4. Milk & Alcohol - Dr Feelgood
  5. Trumper's = Fodera
  6. Well... https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sandberg_VS4_Lionel_Creme.html
  7. See, tempting the GAS gods to make something available that you just can't resist; there lies trouble. Everything I have is of a very high quality too, but then I see a Hardly Bent One that looks so pretty and is, by default, cheap and boom, GAS (no, not that sort)! Beware the GAS!
  8. That’s the kind of statement that will ensure that something will appear that you can’t refuse. Tempt the GAS gods at your peril.
  9. Never! It does take a lot of getting used to, but I found the effort worthwhile. TBH, I tend to avoid the ‘70s output where Ged’s voice was the most shrill and have found my Rush niche in the ‘80 - early ‘90s era.
  10. Broken Bones - Love Inc
  11. Another vote for a pedal, an octaver or chorus would be my shout.
  12. Another entertaining video, Sir. 👏👏👏 For complete transparency - “Er, hello. I’m, er, Ezbass and I, er, like prog rock,” (shuffles away shamefacedly, whilst humming something in 7/4).
  13. It is. I’ve worked with the drummer and backing singers.
  14. Inherent Flub, top band name.
  15. I have chums who play in Cloudbusting, they put on quite a show.
  16. True that. If I had been designing that bass, I think that would’ve set the pickup back a bit so that it’s not in the P or J neck p/up ‘sweet spot’, more towards the MM position. If you’re going for different, go different. Also, I’m intrigued with the recent fascination for gold foils, which has filtered across from the skinny stringed market. They’re not the most powerful of pickups and plainly have some build issues. It does appear to be more of a marketing exercise that one based in tonal superiority. As ever, YMMV.
  17. Nik Kershaw in May. Best thing is that it’s a 10 minute walk from my front door.
  18. Yeah it’s super easy, but I regard that as a bad thing. You can get stick on rubber thingies that, once attached, can indicate where the body begins on a proper DB and I think I might get a couple so that if I’m called on to play a DB, I won’t have upper register reach shock. TBH I try and play everything in the first 5 positions and don’t stray too far south at all.
  19. I dropped my EUB so that the nut is around my eye level (like Danny), as opposed to forehead height that beginner’s guides seem to favour. Ooh, that’s better, feels more comfy and I seem to play more in tune too. Result!
  20. Lost In Hollywood - Rainbow
  21. Thanks for that. I’ve had a quick look at the 2 videos from ‘88 and Danny has his bass height very low compared to what I’ve seen as the recommended height (I’m new to upright and recently acquired my first EUB), I might give a lower setting a go (good enough for DT and all that).
  22. I suspect that this would be the case. As a much younger man, I was a regular church goer (including gospel bearer, acolyte & crucifer), but I haven’t set foot in one other than for christenings, weddings and funerals for many a year. I became disenchanted with the hypocrisy of many of the parishioners once outside of a service. This seems to somewhat amplified when it comes to church bands from what I’ve read in these pages.
