14.
it's not plywood but proper alder and I'm going to report that spam to the moderators. by the way - this bass is worthy EVERY SINGLE PENNY!
I wouldn't, you'll open up a huge can of worms here!
 15.
They were imported by James Grant in Edinburgh in the 70s early 80s and given the name of his music shop. I bought mine in 79 because I was a spotty 16 year old with no money and it was the cheapest bass in the shop. If only I'd known it would one day become a collectors item I would have covered it in cellophane and stored it in a temperature controlled vault at the bank for the last 33 years as an investment for my retirement.
I concur!
 16.
I thought the term 'lawsuit' referred to Gibson and Fender suing companies from the far east for making unlicensed copies of their designs? For example the old Tokais and Fernandes were identical to vintage Fenders and Gibsons end even had headstock logos based on those of the companies they were ripping off. I didn't think lawsuit referred to instruments that were just good instruments?
Yes, my recollection also. a.
 17.
Here you go, Andy.... Mark McK. .
Thanks for this. a.
 18. hiya, can you explain the lawsuit bit some more please? If I'm right these are early 80's, my era and, although my local music shop sold them (Grants Music - sadly no more!) I can't recall the lawsuit - its got me really intrigued?? Most likely I'm just getting old! andy
 19. Wish these were away! Glad you are enjoying the Kilo Dood, I like it a lot but still coming to terms with its complexity. I do think though, that the AK series cabs are more LH1000 orientated than the Kilo and that is most likely the reason I'm not enjoying it as I should be. andy
 20.
Interesting link from one of the guys selling a Japanese P. http://www.mijfenders.com/frmBass.htm
Your link is has an Edinburgh area code attached to it - 0131. I'll try to check it out but my feelings are it is this lot: http://www.importedinstruments.com/edinburgh-store/info_1.html
 21. Withdrawn due to its stunning performance at practice tonight! And; given I have spent the weekend looking and playing basses, I would have swapped for it ... Fender standard precision, modern players and vintage modified, they do not measure up to this bass. For once I'm happy to withdraw. a.
 22.
Tempting as I know they are nice basses Andy, but i know it'd never get used, much like the 5 stringer I bought for teaching/ workshops. It barely gets lifted from the wall hook! Thank you anyway though!
Cheers Dan. How are you getting on with the Kilo? andy
 23. Hey Dan, fancy swapping one for a significantly lesser bass than yours, the Yamaha BB424? Gotta try! andy
 24. oohh, cmon trade it!! That is a steal! Wish I had the money mate - that is a lot of cab for little money! andy
