  1. I've seen a 60s Precision in a shop and it looks really nice, except the body has been refinished in white; a bit of a shame, I thought...
  2. That sounds likely to me, if only to prevent the logo wearing more.
  3. Nice bass! I've been seeing other models up for sale, but not the SB-700. I had one I bought new in the 70s or was it the 80s, which I sold at some point; it was a very nice bass.
  4. Cor - and they say Fender just do the same old designs. Sadly, I think the "rare" is probably because not many people bought them...
  5. The idea of putting a Marshall amp into that somehow appeals...
  6. So, when the seller says "These range from £300 to £1500", which end of that scale is a Korean one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tokai-Love-Rock-electric-guitar-rock-concert-damaged/142654907054?epid=1123285000&hash=item2136e522ae:g:~W8AAOSwWktaWiSj
  7. Get in early to buy for next year's Secret Santa!
  8. Cool - it was Manchester Apollo for me.
  9. Mo Foster is a good 'un; I saw him with Jeff Beck on the There & Back tour; met them after the gig!
  10. There might be a sale in a while...
  11. Well, assuming it is genuine and can be refinished, that was a pretty good price. I dropped out earlier...
  12. A mere scratch! I'm picking up my bass tomorrow from the bloke who's repairing this. and this...
  13. Hehe - he does spell it properly in the description, though.
  14. Won't come to any 'arm!
  15. Aye - just the title and the illegal logo.
  16. Looks a bit of a dog to me.
  17. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Warmoth-74-Jazz-bass-build-project/112736305513?hash=item1a3f9b8169:g:kZMAAOSwytJaQ7~W Only pickups, bridge, neckplate are Fender. Body is Warmoth. Fender logo on 3rd party neck makes it a fake.
  18. Aye - I guess it's a matter of whether there is something untoward underneath, and the quality of finish... (And the time & effort required!)
  19. I'd say a competent luthier should be able to sort it.
  20. I've got an Affinity Strat which I bought for my kids 10+years ago; it's like a Fender except every part is just cheaper & less well finished, but it sounds rather good. I looked at selling it a while back, but they're not worth much, so I kept it; I think £40-60 is the right price range and you get a lot of guitar for that!
  21. The machines are interesting - not yer standard cheap Japanese ones.
  22. Well, I haven't been wanting one of those for years, but it looks so left-field I think I'll give it a go! PM on way...
  23. I think it's amusing that the packaging has Professional misspelled. But it looks a nice cable!
  24. That's an interesting way of flipping the question around.
  25. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Jazz-Bass/182988650320?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49130%26meid%3D537622dc6ad542afaa6d2b34918cbae7%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D362200709424&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 "I can't tell for 100% is it real fender parts" - well, I can tell the machines aren't!
