  2. I'm not sure how they'd work as a headless - the body is rather large.
  3. The purpose of the show is to attract visitors (ie. paying customers); me, I'm going to see what I'm up to on the day before I decide whether to go. It does for sure require a big effort on the part of the exhibitors, and nobody is downplaying that; however, if there's little or nothing of interest then the case for going is not made. There are people who are looking to plan ahead: book hotels, flights, plan weekends, so there needs to be stuff there for them. So far I've not seen a "must go" item on the list so far; the nearest is Paul Gilbert, but he's also got a gig upcoming nearby to me, which I could go to instead.
  4. I have to say I must be a bit ignorant - when I saw his name I thought Toto... 😕
  5. On my Rickenbacker basses the lever dosn't reach the edge of the headstock when it's in the normal/E position, so it would be OK. On my Jazz it's marginal.
  6. I did, but the lever protrudes down past the nut position. However, you could face the guitar the other way 'round on the hanger (no good if it's for display, though!).
  7. I think that I wouldn't do it if the hanger touched any of the Hipshot assembly.
  8. Methinks that was v0.1 of the guitarspeak translator service...
  9. I've got one of the original small Pignose amps which is fun; the tone control is to open the box.
  10. Is that 4-screw bridge correct? But anyway, with all the decals, fakery, up-branding, who would buy a Fender these days anyway?
  11. I'm just waiting to see what's on before deciding; I'll likely not buy a ticket up-front.
  12. I saw him with Jeff Beck on the There & Back tour (Simon Phillips on drums and Tony Hymas on keyboards). He was also on the first Michael Schenker Group album, which was a bit of a departure from hisjazz leanings (again with Simon Phillips).
  13. I have to say that I like to go and see the kit, but will watch one of the guests if they're interesting. I also like to pick up parts, oddments, and used stuff.
  14. On the bonus points matter, here's my Jan '64 Rickenbacker with a set of Swing Bass.
  15. I've still not decided whether to go; it slightly depends upon whether & where I'm working at the time. My only must-do is to remember to take my earplugs!
  16. I've still got the T-shirt!

  18. Chris Squire - there are plenty of brilliant bass players past and present, but he's the first one who made the music fit around him.

Ta - maybe a bit too much for me just now, then.
