  1. I can’t help with transport but it could sit in Tamworth if that helps at all, 5 mins from M42, 2 mins from A5, 15 mins from M6 and 20 mins from M5
  2. Orange terror, I have trace heads as well but love the orange warmth and growl (and the fact it doesn’t kill you to carry it). I have an original 1000w version but have heard the latest incarnation and they sound great too.
  3. I have a few from Hypnotic straps in Poland, very reasonably priced and superb quality and comfort.
  4. And the scrotes know everything aspect of the law, and if they don’t their solicitor will tell them. My Nephew is a lawyer for criminal cases, I have had a few discussions with him and asked how he deals with people he knows are guilty and he says he will still try and get them off as it’s his ‘job to do so’. I asked what he would do if it was a rape or murder and he knew they were guilty and he said he would do the same - try every trick to get them off as they are his client. How the hell you sleep at night knowing you are letting a guilty person like that walk the streets to potentially do it again I will never know. He reckons he knows 99% of the time whether they really did it or not.
  5. Just looked at your prices and they seem more than reasonable! Bordering on bargain I would say. Wish I had known about you when we were looking to move one.
  6. We were looking for a piano for my daughter a couple of years ago, a relative had one they didn’t need and was happy for us to have it for free. When we looked into the cost of moving it and getting it tuned we ended up going for a good quality keyboard instead. There always seem to be a few on my local musical for sale Facebook group for not a lot. I think the ideas above about listing on a cheap day and contacting local dealers are sound, but be prepared for eBay morons to bid before they have looked into transport costs (we were quoted £350 to move one 20 miles and have it retuned, one guy wanted £600 just to move it!) Good luck!
  7. Welcome! You have come to the right place. So much experience on here for all aspects of bass playing.
  8. A very good friend of mine is the most amazing talented musician I have ever met. Sadly he suffers from horrendous pre gig nerves so virtually never plays live. His recorded stuff is truly stunning but he just hates performing so doesn’t do it. I am sure we have all been to gigs expecting a great time and been met with a charisma vacuum that deflates the whole experience, and on the opposite side, those gigs where the energy is amazing and the music is almost secondary.
  9. Not all of us voted for this by any stretch 😉 but I have found the Police to be very variable over the years and a lot seems to come down to the staffing of the local team. Living by a park in a small market town and working in a profession where I fairly regularly either have to report matters to the police or act in a professional capacity in court I have seen the best and worst. We had a local officer who was utter scum, she was a disgrace to the Police force and the local team were, in my view, corrupt when they ‘lost’ evidence after she crashed her car into an OAPs house when drunk. I have also seen officers who go the extra mile and genuinely to everything in their power to be the best they can be. Thankfully the good officers have outweighed the bad but a lot of the culture seems to come from the head of the local team. The cuts have been horrendous but some forces were pretty rubbish before that. Recently there was a spate of thefts from cars overnight, all small stuff, but the local team have worked hard and caught those responsible, so some still do care about the small things.
  10. It’s a nightmare! There are three versions of the same pattern and little suggestions as to what comes next at any point! Much harder to learn than something that changes all the time. I am trying to decipher the structure and some bits are ok, 2 of number 1 then 2 of number 2 and repeat, but other bits don’t follow that! I can imagine it being a car crash if we get it wrong. And it’s a finger killer!
  11. The Riverboat song. Two seconds to learn the parts and an age to remember what damn order they come in and when!
  12. What’s a ‘ bone player’? A keyboard player? I sure as hell am not typing ‘what’s a bone player’ into google to find out.
  13. No point it gathering dust. Sell and buy something you will use.
  14. I don’t get the point.
  15. ‘Far more complicated than it needs to be’ could be the entry for Jazz In the Oxford English Dictionary.
  16. We frequently go a few months between rehearsals in one of my bands. Sometimes we are a bit rusty, others we seem spot on. If it has been a longer than normal amount of time we seem better - my theory is that we have all put more effort in to get ready but that could be rubbish.
  17. I have a 1000w Orange Terror head, super compact and midget. Never ever had the amp above about 3/10 at a gig. Wound it up to 7 or 8 to see what it could do an an outdoor event and our drummer could hear me half a mile away as he drove in. I have used the supercompact on its own several times at medium sized pubs/ clubs and never found it wanting.
  18. Oh yes indeed! Within an hour it was lasting away. Accuracy was reasonable with it able to fairly routinely hit a 6ft target at 100yds. Great fun but expensive to run.
  19. When I was a member of a target shooting club a few years ago there was a guy who loved blackpowder stuff and bought himself a small cannon. In the interests of safety you start the charge low and work up. He started a bit too low and the result was a disappointing woomph followed by the cannonball slowly rolling across the firing point. Perhaps he showed this to the Gallaghers at some point?
  20. It can also have a negative effect, I like the Geddy Lee signature Jazz but would be reluctant to own one as I am not a fan of his. Similar with the Nikki Sixx thunderbird on page one, stick normal Gibson livery on that and it’s a hell yes! But the Nikki Sixx stuff puts me off.
  21. I don’t think we are the target market for signature models. They are mostly aimed at the fan market- have ‘the bass your idol plays’ and you will surely sound exactly like them, or perhaps not........ I bet most end up sat in a corner or on a wall hanger.
  22. I like the version that made number 1 a couple of years back. Everyone likes a sausage roll after all.
  23. Living on a prayer? How does that work then?
  24. There are some serious hard core beards that suggest a life of extremism.........
