  1. But that can be a pain. I saw an Irish band called the Touts a couple of years ago. It’s nigh on impossible to find info about them which is frustrating as you just get a million pointless hits.
  2. I have a BEAD string Jazz, sounded awful at first, then tweaked the nut and it sounds great, so much so that the 5 string went within a week. I only use it on two songs in the set list anyway but it’s fine for the job.
  3. Equally I work in a place with 80 staff and 200 ‘customers’. We have not had a single case (thankfully as we have some very vulnerable people). When looking at anything in epidemiology and individuals experience is just that - the individual experience. Some will be in groups and areas that are very badly affected, others will know no one affected. That is why we need the bigger studies. They are not based on asking everyone but on using sampling techniques and extrapolation to get an idea on how badly affected any given area is. It isn’t perfect but the expertise and experience of those doing it improves all the time and is also based on experience from previous epidemics of all sorts of diseases.
  4. Click on your username top right then click ignored users, you can block the content of named users so you don’t, see what they post or get alerts. You can still see quoted posts but it can make life that little bit nicer if there is someone who just posts stuff you don’t like/ is rude or whatever. I am a mod on a car forum that uses the same system as this one and it’s a great feature as there are always a couple of ‘characters’ on any forum and for many users being able to filter that makes for a more pleasant experience.
  5. They have blocked feedback on stuff that is refunded for ages. It’s stupid, sometimes the refund is due to excellent service, others it’s terrible.
  6. Many people working are ignoring/ being forced to ignore the 2m recommendation. I don’t think it’s a good idea personally but there has to come a time when a certain degree of sensible risk has to be taken. Sadly the much vaunted, and undelivered, track and trace systems are the key to controlling the spread. We have been approached for an outdoor gig in a few weeks time but turned it down when we saw the details. I think they will be very odd events and as it’s not a source of significant income to any of us it didn’t seem the right thing to do, we have suggested another local band where we know a couple of members are struggling financially and they seem keen so it’s worked out well.
  7. Thanks guys, I have sent a couple of emails and will se what comes back but will otherwise do the sticker route.
  8. But is available on a Squier...................
  9. I don’t think Fender want me to have this, looked at necks and they do a precision Maple with blocks but not a Jazz 😂
  10. I have wondered about buying just a neck and even making the body myself - I could do a see through finish then. But I have enough projects so would probably have to go for a premade body. Perhaps,I should look for the price of replacement fender necks........
  11. There are a good few options, just missing that exact one. I can get everything I want, just not on the same bass!
  12. Thanks but really fancy maple for a change.
  13. But do they do it for around £650? My understanding was that they were £1200+ if not more (would love to be wrong!)
  14. Not necessarily, but budget would need to be around Fender player end of the market as it will be used heavily so no expensive show queens!
  15. The range is odd, they seem to do some colour combinations over and over and others are almost non existent. I guess they think they know what people want.
  16. I wouldn’t want to paint one to be honest. I know it’s doable and have done it myself but would like an ‘off the shelf’ option if possible. I had looked at the Squier in black, but I already have a black Squier jazz, but with rosewood fretboard.
  17. Hmmm, I hadn’t thought of that. I wonder how well they would last?
  18. Just what I was thinking, like the cinema but with MUCH bigger pockets for stuff.
  19. My GAS for a lake placid blue/ tide pool Jazz is getting out of hand. Luckily there is a fly in the ointment - blocks, or rather lack of them. I don’t have a bass with maple and block neck but sadly Fender don’t seem to do one that I can find (not looking at custom range at do not have the budget). The player range has tide pool and maple but with dots. I have heard good reports on here so happy to give one a go but does anyone know if they do a maple neck with blocks at all? Is it an option you could get?
  20. Too right! What loser would turn up in that abomination rather than the superb piece of British engineering above?
  21. Shame the colour range and options are so limited. I want lake placid blue with maple and block, but would accept the tide pool with maple and block but they don’t do one as far as I can find.
  22. The last Internationale - we will reign, proper feel good song.
  23. And the steel may not be low grade as such, it may have properties that are beneficial in other ways but rust resistance not being one of them. Personally I don’t like stainless strings, never found any that I like the sound of.
