  1. Does wiggling any of the rotary pots affect it? Could just need a squirt of switch cleaner. As above, don’t go poking around unless you know what you are doing, otherwise you might die. ps has anyone played this noise backwards yet?
  2. Could it be caused by increased tension brought about by the additional string squeezing frets out slightly? May be why it wasn’t an issue in the previous incarnation?
  3. Where can I find the most reasonably priced ash body blanks? There’s one on eBay for £58.95 plus £12.25 delivery - is that about right?
  4. 3 little darlings. Practice? I remember that word....
  5. I’ve had maybe eight basses ever, so not a lot to compare to, but my Squire JV P will be prized from my cold dead hands!
  6. So this is the MM copy I (orchestrated rather than) made back in the 90’s when I was in college. The body was mahogany and probably a bit too thin. The headstock was waayyy too big (thick front to back too) so neck dive was slight, but annoying. I was really happy with the body shape - again, I drew around a P and made it more curvy. Pity I didn’t consider the control plate in that process! It played well and sounded superb (Seymour Duncan pup and preamp), but ultimately the little niggles grew to taunting jibes, so I broke it for parts and moved on!
  7. I can’t get the printer working, so I drew around my JV instead. It’s a bit lumpy, but it’s close. Can’t be bothered with active electronics or even a tone control, and I want the pickup in roughly P position. I’m thinking a black anodized aluminum pick guard (gawd knows where I’m going to get one of those made up!). Ideally I’d have a roasted flamed maple neck, but budget won’t extend that far! I LOVE the look of the roasted Fender, so you can see where I’m coming from here...
  8. Full scale for me - I love that body shape, too. Thanks for the plans chaps - gonna fire up the printer and see what adjustments I’d like to make!
  9. Hello friends. Inspired by recent builds, I’ve purchased a Warman Musicman style pickup, and need some other stuff to put around it. I had a Musicman copy I (orchestrated rather than) built around 20 years ago. The neck was a slight disappointment as the “luthier” wot made it was a scoundrel. As I understand it, he has now moved cities to shed his poor reputation. So, this time around, I’d like to do a Jaguar body, p width neck, with the MM pup. Lightweight tuners to keep good balance. A nice dark stain/finish, like what @Bridgehouse did. This will be mega slow going - probably going to buy one thing per month, as not to alarm the Mrs or flamingo the household budget. So, my next item after the pup will be the body. Jaguar bodies aren’t that common, so I had thought about buying a Jazz body and cutting it down. Does a Jaguar body dimension fit in a Jazz outline? Or am I better off manning up and getting a blank?
  10. Btw, love the colour- sort of what I mentioned in the beginning. Gonna do one of these soon!
  11. Zippy it, you. ...I’ll get my coat.
  12. Whats the story behind wattgate then, chaps?
  13. I used one with a soul band, and it got away with it just, but its likelyy amp was the limiting factor. Two coped with a 5 piece rock band. I had to sell both of mine cos I was skint, but when I’ve got the dosh again it’ll be a Two10 for me! (Black though, soz BF).
  14. Looks nice, none of that toneprint nonsense. Love the marketing speak, too - “MOSFET preamp for that valve sound”.
  15. I have two - my main and perfect JV Squire that is the best thing ever, and a backup/spare - @yorks5stringer ‘s old modded PB50 (that I may be modding further). I could fit another in the rack though...
  16. I love the look of them, but the only time I tried one of the standard ‘Bad for the environment’ types I was put off by the narrow string spacing at the bridge. Can it be widened?
  17. I would try a dark stain, like walnut colour. I’ve just bought a Warman MM style pickup, so that in place of the p-pups? Aged white pick guard maybe?
  18. Just bought a Warman MM style pickup. Will have a think about what it goes in to... Again, thanks for the tip @kodiakblair!
  19. I think they’d look nicer with the silver grill cloth. Still, special editions are a good way of gauging public appetite, they look good on social media advertising, and it gets people talking! Win/win. However, when funds permit I shall be getting a black Two10 with silver grill cloth.
  20. Looks like an American diner theme now!
  21. Sounds good, looks good @kodiakblair, and thanks for the tip - £17 for a pickup? I’ve bookmarked those bad boys!
  22. Btw - that looks awesome with the binding cleaned up! Gonna be a bit special, methinks.
