AFAIK the important thing to look for when choosing batteries is the Ah(Amp hour) rating. The higher the figure the longer they will last(theoretically)

Just cannot see what need there is for this bass. Surely a niche within a niche within a niche! As said above I think a dual neck would be a less clumsy solution

I think the bad intonation is the least of it's concerns!

be careful with how hot your bass's output is. I blew the input on a soundcard when I plugged one of mine in - it runs 18V active EQ though. you can get some very decent soundcards which have a front mounted module that is the same size as a DVD-ROM drive that will have 1/4" jack inputs and RCA outputs to make connecting your bass very easy as well as listening to it.
