1. I recently finished restoring this beauty, a 1990 Warwick Streamer with a broadneck and barts. I really need to take some better photos that better show the flaming in the maple, but for now these will have to suffice: btw, can anyone tell me the difference between this Streamer and a Stage 1 please as I cant see that there is any difference? Mine has a 2 band EQ and is active/passive. Because I want it to be as versatlie as possible I will be installing switches to select between coils on each of the barts, should be fun and rewarding! As it is though, it is the best bass I have ever owned or played in terms of tone. It snarls like a rabid dog if needed but can also be tamed and shaped to whatever else you need it to be. I think this is THE bass for me!!!
2. sweet baby jesus that is a beautiful bass!!!
3. I can't see the photos on my mobile. Anyone else have this problem?
4. For those of us not in the know, what is a Wal JG bass and how do they differ from a "normal" Wal?
5.
Looks like Camphor burl or Thuya burl to me!
I believe it is walnut burl.
6. very tempted to buy this back but I will resist and let someone else have a turn! deal with Stuart with confidence!
7. definitely not a pro job at converting it to its present shape. looks more like a hack to me...
8. Stuart purchased my Status bass from me last week. Paid immediately, great communication and a pleasure to do business with.
9.
Bit hard to tell from the pic, is the wood just compressed or is there a chunk missing? If it's compressed heat/steam will work very well. Rather than trying to describe the process, I would point you to You Tube
In my experience this only works for soft woods. Dense woods are harder to compress and therefore harder to decompress
10. Why not boost the bottom three of the five EQ knobs and turn down the gain and or volume to make the treble roll off more pronounced. Failing that buy an EQ pedal
11. I use 0000 wire wool to clean the fretboard and polish the frets. Mask over the pickups first. Afterwards vacuum the dust off, wipe down with a slightly damp cloth, let dry then use the lemon oil to replenish the oils in the fretboard.
12. If you read the other threads on here about the same seller and same bass it will make sense.
13.
Only if the sale actually went through. If the buyer didn't pay, and I very much doubt he would, then he'd just cancel the transaction.
as I said in my post, ebay charge the fees to your ebay account invoice the moment the auction ends - i know because it happened to me on an item the buyer did not pay on. It wasnt until I opened an unpaid item dispute and that dispute was upheld (14 days IIRC) that I got my final value fee back!
14. Probably the best looking Streamer I have ever seen. Beautiful figuring on the body!!!
15.
It's that roaster mentioned another thread. The guys a looney tune
I bet he has seen the bid and is sitting there rubbing his hands together with a maniacal grin on his face!!!
