  1. Yes that's right. Well all the Warwicks I have and have had the necks look just fine to me. If it ever does get grimey you can just give it a light rub down with fine wire wool and then re finish. A quick and easy job to do.
  2. Im sure he doesnt - I dont suppose you could ask him though - would be interesting to find out.
  3. lovely Thumb. Is that a custom order or is it a GPS?
  4. or use warwick wax. i know that this is only typically applied to the Warwick bass bodies to "feed" the wood but Warwick also use it to finish the necks - they apply it melted and then rub it in and then rub off an excess afterwards. leaves a nice protective finish that is lovely and smooth.
  5. Lovely instrument but im really not keen on the huge back plate. I understand its that size because it has been hollowed out from the back but I dont understand why Jens does slice the body in half, hollow it out and then glue the two pieces back together - surely this would look so much neater and more aesthetically pleasing?
  6. Sweet baby Jesus that is sexy and in such great condition!!! Is There a name on the inlay on the last fret? I've seen similar with a Bass Centre name on it. Very unusual to see a Stage II with a PJ configuration but I can't see that would be a bad thing at all! GLWTS
  7. Looks like an Ovangkol neck, Wenge fretboard and ash body
  8. Thanks mate, I was hoping you would be able to clarify! I have a 5 string very similar to this from the same year - maple body, bartolini soapbars, 2 band EQ, but mine has the maple/Wenge neck and wenge fretboard. Cracking basses these! I will never sell mine!
  9. Thanks Mike, the best part is that it sounds and plays every bit as good as it looks!
  10. Bargain price for a high quality German made bass!!!
  11. These are cracking basses! Great range of tones from this pickup combo. GLWTS
  12. Shouldn't this thread be stickied @mods?
  13. Every day is a school day! Thanks for the info guys. Have a bump on me!
  14. Yes you are absolutely ok to do this. You could help the solder adhere to the pins if you rough them up a little using a metal nail file or similar - no need to go mad just a light scouring to give the solder a key to stick to. Remember to apply flux to the pin over the area you have scoured before soldering. Will also help if you tin the end of the cable and the pin before making the joint. Good luck
  15. Oops double post. GLWTS!
  16. Gorgeous bass! Streamers with Barts are a perfect match. I don't believe this pre dates the Stage 1 or Stage 2 classifications except that stage 1s were simply called Streamers but there definitely are Stage 2s that pre date this...
  17. Mate I've just noticed the nut, what's up with it? Seems as though it isnt fixed to the neck properly as it's hanging over the edge of the e string side. Also, the nut doesn't look like a Just a nut I - is that the original nut or a replacement?
  18. And thankfully that's why only 4 were made, for the world had already suffered enough...
  19. These basses are killer especially for this money. Neck profile is crazy comfy and they are lightweight too. GLWTS

  22. Wash your mouth out young man! These speakers are far too good to be used for anything other than their intended purpose. Just to add, the driver is a full range coaxial design and the capacitor was replaced with a very nice audiophile one and the cabling upgraded so these really do sound great!
  23. Ernie Ball Ultraflex Instrument Cable 12ft £10 posted Good used condition.
