  1. Absolutely beautiful! The Wenge grain is stunning! Can you explain the difference between a midi Wal and a regular Wal please?
  2. I know but there are too many suppositions and assumptions being made surrounding the seller and how he obtained the bass. It may be that you guys are right and he may be a complete scumbag but there are no facts to prove it so I will with hold my judgement until there are some facts to base it on...
  3. I understand the sentiment but why does the person who purchased the bass owe anything to TM Stevens? Its a business transaction. Sorry guys I just dont see the problem, I ahve to assume TM Stevens was happy with the price the bass sold for as he wouldnt have sold it otherwise so I cant see any issue. If the seller has overpriced it which I think he has, especially as I see no proof of provenance, then he wont be able to get the profit he wants - again we are assuming he paid much less than 7K for it.
  4. As opposed to not buying something from him in his hour of need so he has a bass he cant use and no money either???
  5. Thanks Damon, youre right I'm a numpty and have corrected the listing thank you. Thanks for the compliments on the bass.
  6. or somewhere to hide his contraband...
  7. **NOW SOLD** Up for sale is a pretty rare beast an Ibanez Studio ST924 bass from very early 1980s, made in Japan (Fujigen). . I believe it's serial number makes it an '80 or '81. This is a pretty special instrument as it was built to live in the studio and be as versatile as possible and it was built to last and stand the test of time in a real recording environment - hence it is as heavy as cruiseship. The controls are a bit unusual with there being a master volume but also another volume to control the gain on the active circuitry. The rotary switch switches between different tone profiles and these profiles are very close to a lot of different signature bass sounds - allowing you to dial in tones from deep reggae to Alembic-esque fusion funk to aggressive rock/metal and everything else in between. The tone control operates in both active and passive mode. The bass is showing signs of use but not abuse - as you would expect and hope for(nothing more sketchy than a vintage bass with no signs of use IMO!) Overall the cosmetic condition is pretty decent for a 35 year old bass - the only real damage is to one of the machineheads which has been bent as you can see in the photo - it still works though. Electronics are in full working order as is the truss rod. Any questions please let me know. Shipping available at buyers cost. Specs: Body: Walnut on Mahogany Neck: Maple 3-Ply Neck with "C" shaped profile Fingerboard: Rosewood Nut Width: 1.6875" (43 mm) Scale Length: 34" Frets: 24 medium jumbo Bridge: Accu-Cast B Tuners: Velve Tune B Pickups: Ibanez Super T-4 Humbuckers Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone, Boost (mini-switch), 3-Way Pickup Selector Toggle, 6-Way Tone Selector Rotary Switch Finish: Walnut (Natural) Origin: Japan Weight: 11 lbs, 6 oz. according to Ibanez or 5.5kg according to my bathroom scales
  8. the action on this bass isnt the only thing that is ridiculously low - the price is absolutley crazy low for a golden era Stage 2 in amazing condition! If this was a 5er it would be mine! GLWTS
  9. **SOLD** Up for sale is my beautiful 1993 Warwick Streamer Stage 1. This stunning instrument from Warwick's golden era features a 3 band 18v EQ. The MEC pups combined with the EQ and active passive switching allow loads of tonal flexibility whilst still retaining the core Streamer snarl these basses are famed for. It is incredibly ergonomic with perfect balance, comfy contours, very low action and lightweight at only 3.8kg! The frets have loads of meat left on them. The frets have been polished and fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. The body and neck have just been cleaned and waxed. There are a few minor marks and dings as you would expect from an instrument of this but overall it is in very good condition. It features the Dunlop recessed straplocks and I will include the matching strap pins. Postage is available and it will be well packaged in a Warwick gigbag packed inside a bass shipping carton.
  10. Beautiful bass! Must be a custom option to have walnut especially on a broad neck! To get the bass looking like new you will need to rub the body down with fine wire wool - I use grade 00. To do this properly you need to remove the strings, neck, all the hardware and all the electronics(take photos so you know how to put it all back together!). If you are competent weilding a screwdriver and a soldering iron then this should be do able in about half hr. once you have all that removed, take the bass outside(you will make a lot of mess!) and go to work using the wire wool to rub down the body to remove the surface wax which has become discoloured with sweat and dirt from your hands. It is a lot of work as the wax will clog up the wire wool so you will need a lot of it. You can start off with a more aggressive grade like 1 or 2 but it all depends on your experierence as you can scratch the body with the grades and then you need to remove the scratches with the finer grades... once you have removed all the wax and youre left the raw wood and you are happy there are no scratches, rub it down with white spirit and let it dry - again do this outside because of the fumes. Once it has dried you can then use the Warwick wax to refinish the bass by rubbing the wax in to the wood – you can melt the wax with the heat from your fingers as you rub it in to the body. Go steady with the wax though, better to apply many thin “coats” with time in between to allow the wood to soak up the oils from the wax…
  11. yes you have to do this or you will make it worse! Its not a quick or easy job though! you need to remove the strings, neck, hardware and electronics ideally if you want to do a proper job. Ive done this to a few different warwicks now and great results can be had but you need to know what you are doing or you will make a mess of it...
  12. **NOW SOLD** Boss GT-100 v2.0. with power supply and manual. In very good condition, few minor scratches - all shown in the photos, £225 posted within mainland Britain.
  13. Hi Kev, I hope you dont mind me correcting you but there was no serial number(not uncommon for Streamers of this era that received gloss paint jobs) but the year of manufacture given when I advertised it was based on advice from Warwick experts on this forum
  14. not sure about the action on this - that one photo showing the MOP side markers looks like you could sail a barge under the strings...
  15. Exactly. Why no shots of the back either. OK please check your post and let's see some more varied pics of this beauty please
  16. Could be a Fusion Bass Case as per the title?

  23. Oh wow that is incredible! I've never seen one of these before, it looks like a very high end Japanese bass so I'm sure it's a pleasure to play and sounds amazing. GLWTS
