  1. +1! I'll take boring but appropriate any day over over-played and distrascting. Victor Wooten always springs to my mind when it comes to "too busy". Sure he's a virtuoso but when playing for other bands he should know how to tone it down - see Marcus Miller for how to do this correctly.
  2. Yep, I hate Ted Nugent(to the point where I believe he is actually mentally ill re his stance on gun control) but Stranglehold is a great song. The bass line really holds the song together and allows Ted the room to deliver his killer solo. He's still a tw@ though!
  3. Gorgeous bass! GLWTS!
  4. Why oh why... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332787116674
  5. Had one of you recently attended are corn farmers conference?
  6. Sweet bass. Another person here who would love to be as talented as Jon Stockman! Alas I am but a Simple Boy...
  7. yep thats what I see too. the description is absolutely pathetic though...
  8. What an absolutely beautiful bass!
  9. Actually I'm very sorry but I think I can top any oddity with this offering... https://reverb.com/uk/item/6459488-esp-ltd-devil-girl-2003-in-satin-red-for-collector-s-100-worldwide-made-in-korea?adposition=none&devicemodel=samsung%2Bsm-a510f&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjIOA1sDZ3wIVUuHVCh2sGwecEAEYASADEgKnc_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&keyword=&matchtype=&pla=1&utm_adgroup=INTL-UK+-Retarget&utm_campaign=INTL-UK+-+Display+-+Retarget&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=display
  10. So you want to setup the intonation on your bass? Thats a pity...
  11. Yeah I got me a lovely Weller soldering station which is just the ticket. Heats up super quick and temp is easily adjusted.
  12. Yes, this is the way to go - a tip with a higher thermal mass is really useful for tranferring the heat. You can also add a blob of solder to the tip to really help things along. Most important though is to use a good quality flux to clean the component legs and PCB tags and again this also helps transfer heat.
  13. Otis, can you confirm, do you mean the buzz is present from the 14th fret to the 21st fret(or however many frets your bass has) or from the 1st fret to the 14th? If it's 14-21 then it will be the action at the bridge you need to adjust not the relief in the neck. If it's 1-14 then you will need to check if the buzzing is occuring on the nut side of the note that you are fretting or the body side. If the buzzing is towards the nut(ie. behind the note you are playing) then the action at the nut is too low. If the buzzing is occuring towards the body(ie in front of the note you are playing) then increasing the relief in the neck will help. good luck
  14. Maybe he is charging £1 per word in his listing description🤣
  15. It did sell on eBay recently yes, but the sale fell through. It will be listed on there again when they next have one of their promotional weekends with the £1 selling fee 😁
  16. was sold but sale fell though so now back up for sale
  17. Thank God they are unique!!!
  18. I just had the SB Elite I bought re-fretted for £135 by a local pro luthier: http://www.lakestoneguitars.co.uk/phone/index.html
  19. You can replace it now... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153307793340 A bit over priced but you can make an offer....
  20. did you post the right link? it is neither headless, unsual nor Chinese... 🤨
  21. with just one pup and the passive electronics it doesnt sound anything like a Wal really. I was rather underwhelmed with mine. Also, the build quality on mine was decidely average
  22. well to be fair you could ask for a discount based on the fact the pups have been installed upside-down 😛
  23. I can only sumise that there are more 4 string players than 5 string players. Prices can also fulctuate wildy depending on the time of year, how keen the seller is to shift the bass, originality, if it comes with a case etc. etc. The one located in Poland is identical to the one I have, I managed to steal mine for a paultry £750.00 via ebay!!! That is no reflection on the value of this bass just an auction with collection only from the middle of nowhere...
