1. GAK have them listed at £412
2. If they have all that PA use it as well - its nonsense trying to compete with just a bass rig. Turn your mids and treble up full and cut the bass and steal some of their sound if they dont get the message.
3. The Genz Benz is a cracking amp but it may not be your sound. Try one and if you dont like you should be able to sell it on as they do seem to keep their value. I would be more worried that you have fallen for the old 1x15/2x10 routine but thats me
4.
I'm not sure how James Blanton can be compared. He was certainly a trail blazer and if his life had not been cut short at 24 who knows what he would have become, but Ray's the man.
Thats easy. Duke Ellington and Ray Brown recorded This One's For Blanton just before Duke died. This is a duet - just bass and piano. This has many of the same songs that Ellington recorded with Blanton (the original duets) but finding the Blanton versions is not so easy. I have a 3 CD set called Never No Lament that features a few of the Ellington/Blanton songs but it was real hard to get.
5.
Or I could sell it and build from scratch.
Thats what I do. Or buy 4 2x10's. Lots of money and mucking about otherwise.
6. You wont find much on you tube - see here
7. Yes he is. Jimmy Blanton was even better.
8. Crikey Alex you have been busy. To the OP, my answer is the same as last time and the time before.
9.
Apparently there is some new stuff for Frankfurt. I'm not holding my breath.
No. Bernie wants something to take on MarkBass and they gave him the Classic 450!
10.
Hi, Is this a Neo-112 cab please? Cheers, Lee
Yes - its the only 1x12 Neo cab in the EBS range
11. Fair play to MarkBass for revamping pretty much the whole range when all EBS could manage was the Stanley Clarke Wah !!!!!! Some of use are gagging for a LM/Shuttle/etc/etc sized EBS
12.
I cant see why it should, and anyone considering a lightweight amp would probably have a look at the competition as well rather than just buying a LM3 on the basis that it must be better than the LM2,

Been seeing alot more LMII's on Basschat and Talkbass classifieds since the news broke.
Guess i'm wrong then, there are lot of knobs intending to buy a LM3 on the basis that it must be better than the LM2

15. Am sure there is somebody with 3 DB112's on here. I dont think upgrading the drivers is the answer. I would either get another one or get 2x2x10's. Are you not loud enough?
16. There are knock offs of lots of stuff and bridges are not excepted. I would be surprised to find one factory fitted on a Fender though
17. New ones have true bypass. Thats it.
18. Try and type SKB bass safe into google It does bring up a load of rubbish as well. DV247 are also listing them, but most are out of stock. You may have to settle for Hiscox. Stagg cases! What were they thinking
19.
I assume the first option means playing so gently that you can't play a quiet passage any more gently.
That was the intention.
20.
I thought that too and even when I borrowed another 410TVX it didn't sound anything specacular. The best it ever sounded was when I used just the 15", it was scooped and aggressive but got lost. The 4x10" was much louder but just sounded, well, bland. A support band ran an SVT3 through it once and it didn't really change. Loud though, very loud. Did I mention it was loud?. Cos it was. Loud that is.
Was it loud
21. This was discussed a lot when the Accuswitch was a hot topic. IIRC the Tech cabs used the same multiple coil system so its not as new as Epifani claim. Its not nonsense but its the answer to a problem that for most people does not exist. As comes up frequently on this forum lots of players chase watts when they should be chasing SPL if they want to be louder. Adding cabs is a much more efficient way of increasing SPL than turning down the impedance of your cabs. If you must have one cab then why would you want to turn the impedence up to get less power when the volume knob can do it just as well. As for the technical aspects speakers work by putting electricity through a coil that sits in a magnet. Moving a coil in a magnet generates electricity so its not just a question of switching the coils off, its got to be done in such a way that the electricity generated does not affect the operation and sound of the drivers. It will be interesting to see how much this adds to the price of a cab.
22. I got a Rumour. I did not have it made but someone made me an offer I could not refuse. Its gone back to daddy for a bit of fettling at the moment.
