1. Well the thing is to try as much as you can - but you are not ideally placed for that. Blow some of the budget on Diesel and Travellodge
2. We all like different stuff - you gotta try for yourself.
3. Have you seen EBS_freaks rig? Get 3 EBS Proline 2x10's 6x10 sound in easy installments. You can custom order the impedence.
4. Tried one a few years ago at the Bass Centre (when it was still a shop). Neck felt too fat (in a Warwick kind of way) and the MM pup totally overpowered the J pup. Maybe it was a wrong un. Much preferred the Laklands I played that day.
5. Got bad GAS for the TC Electronic Rebelhead 450 bass system
6. Other way round with me, went to try a rig and he gave me a Spitfire to try. My third is being built.
7.
Only if the steel they use is GB produced and Corus (who are Anglo-Dutch) have just announced loads of job losses...
Didn't the Indians buy Corus?
8.
Yeah, & i could easily make a £3000 bass sound sh*te!! (this a great thread by the way)
Me too
9. We spend money on more expensive basses because we want to

11. There are a few factors at work here. The exchange rate is making US strings more expensive but once upon a time music shops sold loads of strings cos it was the only place you got them. Now they only sell strings in desperation and dont get the bulk discounts they used to get. So its a vicious circle of selling fewer strings for more money. At least Roto's and the Status strings I use (assuming UK made) should not be affected.

13.
Why do you want to run an amp at 2 ohms!? They really don't like that - even if they say they work at 2 ohms you're going to get better headroom and longevity at 4 If you've got so many cabs why not add another amp ? Curious to know what you're thinking.
Nonsense. I ran a Peavey T-max for years at 2 ohms into 2 4ohm 210TX cabs. Peavey have stopped running at 2 ohms but lots of other quality amps like EBS do. If he has the cabs to run at 2 ohms, why buy an amp you cant use? Who knows - he may even be running 2 112's and a 210!
14. What about the Style Council at Live Aid - probably the biggest audience a one of Bernies basses has ever had.
15. When are they going to do some lightweight cabs to go with it? Could get some Dr Bass with orange grills I suppose.
16. At least somebody has taken my advice about not mixing cabs. Not that much different from using 2 4x10's. When are you playing the Dog And Duck?
17. Its too late now but Hipshot have started making their bridges with Fender fit holes. Badass gone bust; whats that all about?
18.
Hang on - I've been as skeptical as anyone about this (see post #5) but I mix cabs. A fifteen and a six, to be specific. Tell me again why I shouldn't?
Are you taking the micky or have you not seen any of the flame wars All I have ever said is that having different cabs, as in not multiples of the same cabs, reproducing the same signal, can produce unpredictable results due to phase cancellation. This does not apply when using a crossover, as I presume your 15 and 6 does, or if biamping a 1x15/2x10 using a crossover for example. But putting full range through both cabs wont always be the sum of the parts.
19. There are three different kinds of Goodfellow Bass. 1.The original handmade by Bernie 2.The mass produced Lowden basses. These are the ones Bernie wont touch but it's difficult to tell the 2 apart without a good close look or asking the man himself 3.The modern GB's built by Bernie. He has no employee's that I have ever seen. This looks like one of the original Bernie basses, but if in doubt speak to the man.
20. One of the things that gets thrown at me when I am preaching the virtues of not mixing cabs is why do so many bass players use 1x15/2x10 or 4x10 stacks. My sometimes reply that they dont know any better or are too stupid to know any better depending on how confrontational I am feeling. Here (and in all the duplicate threads) is the proof. This petition just proves that there are 70,000 people stupid enough to believe everything they read on the internet. Hell I can fart louder than 70db.
21. I cant understand why you would want a different rig for rehersal and like most others I use my gig rig (GB Shuttle 6.0, 2 NeoX112T, pedal board etc), I just only plug the top cab in and I do the same for small gigs.
