1.
A four stringer headless bass with some very nice pieces of wood involved in it's build...... Old mahogany wood on the back with a very nice 'sheen' to it. A very nice piece of black walnut on the top. The neck is a 5 piece maple/wenge 34" scale with a Macassar unlined ebony fingerboard which is excellent for fretless bass with large 3mm side dots. (Macassar is very often used for double bass fingerboards, not quite as 'hard' a sound as black ebony). Two Seymour Duncan pickups (non active) with volume, pan and tone controls. The licensed tuning mechanism with the end string retainer (which is slightly marked) was bought as a 'seconds' unit so I can't say this part is new. (New complete units were extremely expensive when I was looking as opposed to cheaper units). I've built quite a few basses as orders and for myself over the past 18 years as a 'part time luthier', aside from keeping up being a full time player. The body design was taken from the top bout of a P bass with my own lower bout design with the 'violin' type cutaway. A correct size 'headless' Warwick gig bag is supplied with the bass. It is lovely to play, big sound with these pups, strong sturdy neck with two strap holders at the end for choice of position/angle of the bass when worn. The bass has sat around the 'bass cupboard' at home for 3/4 years now so it looks like I'm not a headless bass player! (sic) Visitors welcome to try it out through some Markbass gear. Considering parts cost and labour I would be looking for ........ NOW £700
BUMP

 5.
Anyone use a microphone that attaches to the double bass? If so: - which one? - do you use the microphone only? Or do you mix the signal with a pickup? - volume of the band? any insurmountable feedback problems?
I have the AMT/Applied Mic Tech' one. Only used it for a recording but excellent result.
 6. Nice to meet up with 'jabba/Jez' in the Tewksbury area recently. Thoroughly nice chap and very glad he took the free speaker and parts off my hands. Hope the idea for the new cab works out Jez.

 14. mP3 soundclip is available by email. The bass was recorded direct through a Yamaha desk, no effects of compression added, just the straight DI signal. I would be interested in a trade on this bass for a Markbass 3 and Markbass HF 2x10 (single front port, not the Traveller) A four string headless bass with some very nice pieces of wood involved in it's build...... 16.
Hello all. I have been gigging with a Mark Bass F Series head (limited edition) for a couple of years now. In fact i bought it off here. As i am now seeking to use it at 4 ohms i have entered the realms of needing to know it's maxcimum power output. I have looked online and i can't find an official spec, just seen for sale adverts. People selling them say it's rated 250@8ohms and 450@4ohms. I know it says 450W on the front of the head, but on the back of the head on a silver plate it says Power rating = 550W So is my head 450@4ohms or 550@ohms? Here's a pic of it to help you to help me. 18.
Newb question: Any suggestions for housing a Yamaha Bex4 bass. I've just won one off Ebay and want to house it in something better than the box it came in. Acoustic bass cases/bags look too deep to me, but happy to be proved wrong. Ta for answers & tolerance ......
I think the Bex is pretty wide across the body/width. Try Kinsman cases.
 19.
Bugera 'Classic' Bass Series 10" Speaker 300 watt 4 ohm I've just taken apart a Behringer 2x10 cabinet. There was no sound from the cabinet when plugged in. One speaker appears dead and the other one appears good. I assume this by linking a P9 battery to the speaker terminals which audibly moves the speaker if working or not.....I have not played through the speaker. I also have the horn and crossover from the cabinet. If anyone wants the speaker (or all) for free, good for spares maybe......
BUMP
 20.
Hi all, I've been asked to replace some blown drivers in a markbass 4x10. Does anyone know who or where sells them? Cant seem to find much other than the markbass website which doesent seem to deal with customer support. Any help much appreciated. Cheers Just
PM sent
 21. gone to 'Jabba the Gut' as long as we can get it to him... FREE......... Bugera 'Classic' Bass Series 10" Speaker 300 watt 4 ohm. Could be a spare for your existing Behringer cab. Taken out of a Behringer 2x10 cabinet that wasn't 'working'. However, on testing with a P9 battery to each speaker terminal, one speaker appears dead but the other one responded. I have not played through this one 'working' speaker as yet but if anyone is interested I can try and set it up with bass and amp. Collection or post to you at cost.
 22.
Thanks guys adding some mouse mat to the sponge has worked a treat. The angle has partially corrected itself but I think I've sussed out why the neck pup is doing it, the pup is not dead centre in the cavity and is at a slight angle and I think it is sticking against the scratch plate as it's very tight, so at some point in the future (when OCD kicks in ) I'll reseat it correctly. Thanks again Tony
Springs?
 23.
It hurts to sell this. Rarer than hen's teeth - I doubt you'll find another sunburst in the UK. Custom shop quality. Info here. £1300, including all the case, bits and additional custom-made tort pickguard. I'll ship at the buyer's expense. Here's a clip of it with gruffy old flats on it. It SINGS with rounds. 25.
Any. Assuming you arr talking about the 9v pedals.
yes the 9v pedals but, just like jack plugs have a slight size difference, noticeable especially if the jack socket is a stereo barrel type. I've been having a little trouble with power supply to EBS pedals on my Boss pedal board...
