  1. out of interest I looked at Thomann's site. It looks to be an American Ash body and maple neck, all good wood....if its actually USA Swamp Ash you may find the body' sound' is a bit 'lighter' than other woods like Alder or European ash.
  2. I had a pair of these Delano’s made for a new bass with both the same width as the bridge pickup. They also have raised pole pieces under the A and D strings for cambered string placement. They are used, maybe 10/12 gigs but as new. I’ve decided to go back to the HE model that I’ve used for many years on my other basses. The price includes standard U.K. postage..
  3. Same situation for me at a west London festival outdoors …. (Ashdown) amp and speaker provided, first song the amp stopped working, this against the sound engineer saying it was working fine….thankful I had taken my Markbass amp along.
  4. I will always add if you haven’t done this already ….. try different cables, both guitar and speaker ones. Even one strand of a cable’s wire earthing out can be a problem.
  5. As far as I am aware battery power does not switch on (bringing power to the onboard 'active' tone controls) until a guitar lead is inserted into the bass's jack socket, completing the 'active' circuit within the bass. The bass should still work as a 'passive' instrument when batteries are flat or not connected.
  6. A two piece Swamp Ash body from a really nice straight grain length. This is one of two I shaped a while back but don’t think I’ll get around to working on both for a while. Another fretted bass I’ve made from the same wood stock sounds really good and sustains very well. £75 plus U.K. post The pictures also show the weight/dimensions and a mock up of a neck (not mine!) to give some representation of a final look.

  7. £70 includes U.K. postage. MXR analogue chorus, all working, mains and battery. Excellent condition. Selling as I prefer my MXR digital version.
  8. Originally released on Vinyl, we also wanted it as a gatefold cover but the record company wouldn't cost it for that so here is what it would have looked like as a gatefold cover.....Info would have been printed inside the cover!
  9. I think it was an actor who the keyboard player knew, listed as George Rawlins doing the voiceover Alien language ( and the ‘laugh’ on Toefunk).
  10. Spondonbassed....how could I download this audio, I can't find a way of doing it off this clip?
  11. Brilliant, I’d forgotton what it actually said in forward motion 😄
  12. A very easy and quick transaction with Francis for a couple of D’Addario B strings from me, marvelous stuff, thank you.
  13. ‘Dents’ in unpainted or varnished wood can sometimes be cured with a small square of a damp cloth left in place over damaged areas for a short time, enough for the dampness to sort of leech into the area and just enough to cover over the damage. This can help swell the wood back into shape but, it looks like your damage could be too severe, possibly actual wood pieces have been knocked out….
  14. I have a few single/spare B strings only at £5 each plus post. Genuine strings checked out on D'Addario's 'Players' website page. Taken from 5 string sets, they are loose but will be packaged well.
  15. What’s with that Bacci bass 🥴
  16. …….to add to my previous post. 1: I’ve also had the reply “ we won’t insure you as you might be driving Boy George home and have an accident etc etc! 2: The company used by me via the Musicians Union many years ago was a broker in North London. I discovered they weren’t getting the best price, costing me well over £100 more per year. My wife was a teacher and Aviva had links with her Teachers Union so we moved to Aviva putting her car as the main one but I’m thinking it may have been easier to insure with them as a musician because I was the second car on the policy. As I now use her car for ULEZ zone gigs, I’ve updated our Aviva policy to include her car for business.
  17. Aviva, both cars registered for business, the second car only cost an approx extra £12 for business…..actual cost will depend on what car, your age, normal use for etc…I recently read of someone who was given a fine for driving without insurance cover for use as business, best to cover all possible types of car usage insurance.
  18. I just found this, the link may work … https://propermusic.com/products/visitor2035-visitor2035?_pos=1&_sid=16c45bc39&_ss=r
