  1. I thought that was just me with Gorilla Glue.
  2. It is difficult to fight the Physics. I guess that the answer is to be happy to play up an octave or more for when we want the synthy goodness. Obvioulsy this is sub-optimal, but physics is physics, and the reality is that a sound that is not bass guitar needs to be played differently anyway. I would be happy to play a normal guitar in some situations if there was a patch on there that "just" did a good, solid, believable bass guitar sound. Classic self-inducing GAS post from me here. On another note, I think they might have used the synth to pitch Nate's voice down a bit
  3. Dad sang the bass lines in our chapel. It was Welsh so 4 part harmony for everything. Not everyone wants to be like their dad. I did. So I picked up the lines and sang them an octave higher. There was also a full pipe organ there. All the low notes were magnificent. Who would want to make any other type of sound?
  4. Never mind the bassline, look at that sparkly guitar!
  5. Or just luxuriate in rhythm section family goodness.... https://waterbabymusic.bandcamp.com/album/pocket-change-2-mad-currency
  6. I do not really do Spotify. I get paralysed by choice. However, an ex-student's annual stats have just been pointed out to me. 225.8 million streams, 20.3 million listeners, 11.7 million hours listened. That would be 1335 calendar years if they were all played end to end. I cannot even begin to get my head around such numbers.
  7. Uh oh. I have a spare 5 string neck.......
  8. I have tried this. I can confirm that is it very cool, but at the same time EXTRAORDINARILY niche. It is not commensurate with laying it down.
  9. When I look at the OP's one, it looks like a cartoon of a Jazz Bass. In a good way. It is clearly a Jazz, but taken a bit further out in a kind of Pop Art style. I like that aesthetic.
  10. I am digging this.
  11. I am more than aware that anyone can play anything in any way they want. But this was unexpected.
  12. Thanks. I put it on and the fell asleep in front of the TV. I woke up 4 videos later and this was on which I found helpful as well. I shall go and buy it.
  13. Does this do a sort of auto active moving EQ jobbie or just presets?
  14. This is ridiculous. Why is this still here?
  15. I lucked out and my first P was a 73 bitsa with an A neck. A Bravewood P came up here. It was a fabulous thing. It scratched all the same itches that my 66J did but I could never get comfy on it. I had never taken in the A/B/C nut width thing and it took me a few months to work it out. C widths are not for me!
  16. Peace, tranquillity AND trying out new kit for a year. Lots of good things there.

  18. It sounds like you are looking for the ToneX then. There is a thread on TB about them.
  19. I have been close to the QC thing a couple of times. But realised that for what I do it would be MAHOOOOSIVE overkill. The ToneX is as guitar oriented as everything else is, but there are captures of nice things out there. I will try the Noble once I work out how to do it. This is not saying it is hard, I have just not tried yet.
  20. ToneX? I have one. But have not had time to actually mess with it. I need to sort my life out.
  21. The struggle is real.
  22. That would not hurt
