  1. TC Spectracomp. I like it so much, I own 3. One for church, one for my pedal board and one for recording at home. Multiband compression with presets developed by grownups which means I cannot mess them up. That is my favourite thing.
  2. Then there is the bit where one particular member picks a fight with the sound engineer in every venue you play. That always helps.
  3. Positive and negative. I had a bass modified to give the EMG circuit 18v power instead of the standard 9v. There was absolutely negligible difference. Plumbing Bongo pickups and preamp into a Stingray. Wowzers!
  4. I payed 12K for a car in cash once. The guy who sold it was so keen to get rid he did not even count it. I was taken aback. I sold it for £300 less than I paid and had 3 months of utterly glorious Audi A8 sport 4.2 twin turbo V8 Diesel goodness in the meantime.
  5. Very easy to use and programme. Very juicy synthy goodness.
  6. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted when I commissioned my mind-bendingly expensive custom bass. I also knew what I wanted when I changed the pickups in it twice and the preamp in it 3 times. Then I knew that I did not know what I wanted. It was an expensive lesson.
  7. Lush
  8. I have stopped booking insurance with the company but use secursus.
  9. I have had 2 full-size bass guitar boxes dropped off in post offices for me in the past 2 weeks. I am not boasting here. Just for info. The 60cm thang sounds like a royal pain.
  10. I have given up on pickups. I just book drop-offs.
  11. Urghhhhhhhhhh. I have absolutely no need of this. But I want it badly.
  12. A 10 year guarantee!
  13. I bought a new G&L bass from the USA. The truss rod snapped. I am not complaining about that. Things happen. I have just received a brand new neck from G&L in the US as a replacement. This is the customer service we like.
  14. I cannot deny it.
  15. It's gratifying when a concept actually comes to fruition like you hope it will. My track record of "improving" basses is chock full of "Ah, not all that after all" moments. This is all I hoped for.
  16. Ban this sick filth!!!! Not wrong though.
  17. Ummm....Bongo - copyright @LukeFRC
  18. Tone words. I played the Umm.....Bongo at church this morning. In a kind of strange analogy, it was like playing bass on an Aston Martin V8.
  19. I just bought a bass back that I sold 6 years ago. Don't let it eat away at you.
  20. Very, very.
  21. Thanks for humouring me everyone And because it is an early one the tooooooone is better. Those are the rules.
  22. In the never-ending quest to mess with things, I (obv not actually me) have taken a Seymour Duncan 5 string (https://www.seymourduncan.com/single-product/70s-music-man-alnico-5-5-string) out of my MM USA SUB . I have also taken the Nordstrand 2B-MM preamp out (https://www.bestbassgear.com/nordstrand-2b-mm-preamp.htm). Don't be sorry for me. It is full of Bongo electrics now. Pickup - £80 Pre - £80 I also have a black (b/w/b) scratchplate and a white (w/b/w) scratchplate. £20 each Fancy them you know you do. Geddy Lee's big book of bass - £35 + whatever it will cost to post. It is not light. Or small. As the title suggests. East MPM-02 Piezo Mag Mixer Sold Hipshot D tuner bass extender. GB7
  23. But here is a screenshot of an old school (better toooooooone, obv) Nordy MM pre.
  24. Super close up action. Which I suspect will tell us nothing.
