  1. I need to get out more. I clocked the rack at the top of the 1st picture and recognised it as Mr BF's from when I saw it at a bass bash probably 2 decades ago.
  2. Could you link me up to the ebay advert for the seller? I am wondering if he has many different cases. Ta.
  3. I used to have an NS 5 string. I also had a Peli-alike hard case for it. With in built wheels. I loved that case!
  4. I am fully aware that I have shown this before. It is on in the background while I do admin and I wanted to bump it to share the joy - but I could not find the original post. This is sublime bass playing.
  5. That will be another no then
  6. I played a Stick about 38 years ago. My head still hurts a bit. Talk about "this looks familiar, let's have a go. Oh wow, this is bonkers!". I take my hat off to anyone who plays them. My brain is not wired that way. I have a 6 which is tuned to bottom F#. It is lots of fun. Am I getting the full fundamental note? No chance. But I use it for last notes in songs and as long as the harmony above is all good then it provides a nice cushion for everyone else to sit on.
  7. You cannot spell Bass without a B. Outside now, 4 string people. I will fight you all.
  8. I seem to recall that my Realist pickup was much less fussy about what it went into than other pickups I have used.
  9. If your amp's input has a high enough impedance you are good to go. This is not always the case. And for the record, I am ALWAYS up for new gizmos.
  10. What is the secret of these? Is it just bigly magnets? Super duper windings? What gives? I have a 5 string L1000 with an MFD pickup. It brings the heft.
  11. You can order them through Andertons. You will have to wait for the next G&L shipment they get, but you will not be paying the ridiculous shipping.
  12. It was funny, dad was not a musician but was always supportive. We were watching Mr T on TV and they mentioned the spike. Dad just asked "do you want one" and obviously I said yes. I live(d) in deepest North Wales. Mum sent the 'cello off to J & A Beare in London. I dread to think what it cost.
  13. I actually also have 80% of my Tortellier spike as well. It did not make me a better player!
  14. I used to have a De Jacques bridge back in the day! I always thought there was something quite elegant about it. This is the only bit of 'cello I have left now.
  15. Sometimes it sucks to be a grown-up
  16. He is new but he is sound and will be an asset to us.
  17. I used to have the non stomp box one which was great. The reality is that an Fdeck preamp or a clone will do all you need and will be much cheaper. I will admit to a vested interest here because I have one for sale. But even if I did not I would still say the same thing.
  18. So many possible comments here....

IK have totally stepped up and provided a new serial number. They did not have to do that. I am beyond grateful and frankly very, very impressed.
  20. These are the reviews we need.
  21. The one there is not, the chase only there is.
  22. And their definition of "Just So" is often radically different from our desire of "this is working, let's not fix it".

Just because I have to vent, I am going to update you. Seller has now blocked me on FB so clearly has no intention of undertaking the 8 minute job of transferring the licence which will cost nothing. I am so fed up I am discussing this on the TB ToneX thread as well. Stereo whinging.
