Guilty as charged. BassBashes are always punctuation marks in my GAS story.

I used Lemon oil on a brand new Allparts neck once. I have no idea what I did but had to have the frets all polished up again as it was gritty and horrible. Everyone else gets along with it fine, but I will never use it again.
  3. Excellent! This is the exact info I need. Thanks.
  4. 1995 Owen would be horrified, but I fancy a cream pickup cover. They are not available for my 5 string G&L MFD humbucker. Has anyone had any joy printing a cream pickup cover? I have never done any 3D printing so have no idea if this is easy peasy or it will come out looking like a primary school project. I am also presuming that it will be a matter of 3D scanning the present pickup cover. Again, is this a thing?
  5. Happy days.
  6. That is a Uke Bass made by Toby Chennel who flies under the Jazz Box Ukes banner. When I owned it it was tuned BEADG - I am not sure how HJ has it tuned.

My title is misleading really, I actually bought two of Jez's basses. I am away at the moment but will get a pic up when I get home. It makes this one look big.

  10. I am proud to have initiated a peak in online bass geekery.
  11. Interesting. For the first 3 mins-ish Will Lee is playing almost exclusively upstrokes. Is there anything I need to know about this that I have missed?

I will take form over function any day, but this does both

Ignore the wobbly nature of the LEDs in the picture. Taking pictures in the dark was never one of my strong points.

Yep. Here it is ready to go out at night.
  15. A thing of beauty is a joy forever. The non aesthetically pleasing string arrangement is because I do not have the required B. The string runs over the headstock are due to the non-pliancy of the plastic-coated strings, not because Jez cannot plot his machine head paths correctly.
  16. But what about your brother and the girl? You cannot leave us hanging like this!
  17. You are correct, it is a lovely looking hall. The irony is that due to the fact that I am in there regularly, I never notice what an aesthetically pleasing ceiling it is!
  18. Thanks both. I have just realised that we have a couple of packets of Rockwool at work which will never be used so the woodwork able in the church could make some panels pretty easily.
  19. Hi all, The Church I go to has a rear hall which is very live. This is great for snare drums, but if you put 100 people in there chatting it gets pretty loud pretty quickly. Any thoughts on sound deadening. I know I could put drapes along the walls. I know that some places hang a 6 foot drape along the ceiling. I am fully aware that it is a classically wrong shape and all those hard surfaces are not helping anything. Any other thoughts? TIA
  20. I used to have one of those neck through, sold for not much, jobbies. I often wondered what benefit there was in paying 15 times as much was once the electrics were changed (I put Villex pickups in it). I do not have the answers.
  21. Pretty lush though.
  22. Mutter mutter wait for ages for Walalikes and then loads turn up mutter mutter.
  23. I kind of fancy it back. Is it out there?

Mr Shuker made me another Uberhorn-esque body to go on a Goodfellow neck I had made in the last Millenium. I should not have sold it. If you bought it from me and fancy selling it back to me, please get in touch.
  25. Knobs that do not move unless you want them to. In a good way.
